I was on a promotional package with RR/Basic Cable for ~$50/month, when that period ended it jumped up to $94/month without some sort of notice. When I saw my bill I cut out the cable TV. Somehow I still get it.

Too much - I'm going to cancel my cable tv service and just stick with road runner and switch over to sat for my television watching.

^ how does that break down?
are you just paying $29 for RR, and getting basic cable on the line for "free" (since as long as you have RR, they can't really turn basic cable off, right?)

on the TWC page it says for a'la carte pricing, basic cable is $10-13 and RR is $45. if you go to the Order Services page, it says the $29 for RR is just introductory,

it's introductory, unless you call them after the intro period and tell them you want to stay with the 29.95 a month. And yes, basic cable comes with RR, unless they put in one of those gay inline filters, which are easily misplaced.

They put one of those filters on my line. I get 3 channels now: FoodTV, HGTV, and Cartoon Network.

Mine was "misplaced" (not installed originally) until some guy showed up and threatened to cut it off unless we bought a package w/ DVR. It was cheaper than the ~$90 I pay now for RR and Cable, but the the cable line in my complex is old and they won't run a new one for me to get all the channels. TWC = 1, Your boy = 0...I feel bitch slapped

If you go to the cancellation dept of twc telephone support they can give you 12 months of RR for 29.95 / month. NOT the billing dept, the cancellation dept. ask politely, tell them you are interested in switching to earthlink, but like your current RR service...

BTW TWC has a cable modem lite package for a littel cheaper that they don't advertise and you have to call to get. Still not as good as DSL lite. My Up/Down is about 750/750.

Digipic 4000, RR, 1 DVR, 2 digital boxes = $125.49/mo for a year. After the year, don't know what I'll do yet.

just so everyone knows...high def boxes/service doesn't cost any more than standard digital boxes/service unless you get the extra HD channels.

fuck TWC...when I had my HD box "installed" they wouldn't let me just pick up the box and drop off my old one. Instead I had to have a tech come out and give it to me. So I had to wait two days just to schedule a time of "between 8 and 12" The install day comes around and the guys doesn't show up until just after noon and is here for 45 minutes because he can't get ahold of anyone to "activate" the box. Looked at my bill today and there was an $18.95 fee for the install. I called them up and complained and got the install fee but they wouldn't drop my rate any. I'm about to call them back when I see people getting the same service as me for $40 cheaper. Hell, I wouldn't even need it for a year, I'd be happy for 6 months as a compromise since i'm not a new customer. It's nice how companys will dick over people who are generous enough to stay with them.

while thinking about it, I have Digipic 100, RR, HD Suite and HD DVR and am paying $122, what would a comperable Dish/DSL package cost?

i looked into it, but there havent been any decent deals lately....they're really trying to promote their phone service, so all the deals are associated with it. plus we own our house, so we can't just get new deals everytime we change apts.

i can afford it, its just more then id like to pay.

I've got Comcast internet, and I have to pay $58/mo for it because I don't subscribe to their cable service. It's $58/mo w/o cable, or $44/mo with basic cable which is $14/mo. But I subscribe to the super DirecTV package which is another $80 on top of that.

I can't remember what my bill was when I had TWC in Raleigh, but they never would let me try to reduce my bill and stuff. Comcast lets me, though. I'll call and threaten to cancel, and they'll give me anywhere between 3-6 months at about half off.

he works for TWC's promotions dept and yes, he has the fat deals.
