So i got this from a pawn shop and it was working great when I tested it. I come home from a soccer game unplugged it so I could move it around where I wanted it and for some reason the green light isn't on. I've tested the speakers using a male to male to my computer and they seem to work. I think the sub isn't powering on for some reason. How would i fix this? Anyone a speaker genius and want to check this out?

probably why the mofo pawned them, B

but it was working for a good bit today...i wonder if they would take it back. not sure about pawn shops policy on things.

well checking the klipsch forum i found out that other people had problems with this too and took a look inside of the sub . The resistors they said that tend to get burnt out were R26 and R12. Sure enough both are bad. Looks like I'm gonna have to buy some resistors tomorrow. Anyone want to solder 2 resistors in for me since i don't have a solder gun? $5.00 to anyone who's up for the task.[Edited on August 30, 2006 at 1:08 AM. Reason : ...]

ahahaha

Radioshack doesn't have too many different kinds of resistors...anybody know where else to get 1 watt or 2 watt resistors besides the internet? some electronic store in raleigh would be great.

dang it looks like the capacitor on this thing is leaking. the leakage got on the circuit board...is that bad?
8/30/2006 1:04:34 PM
dude, that sucks
8/30/2006 1:05:04 PM
The leakage is probably just oil. It should be fine if you clean it properly/
8/30/2006 1:19:48 PM
not sure if it's oil or not...all i know that it's brown and solid now.

so anyone know where to get some of these stuff besides online? or even online?

digikey

yeah i've seen that...any others?

well tried it again today and for some reason it's working again. i'm not unplugging it until i get my parts to replace some things. i have an inkling its the capacitor.

oil leaking from a cap won't have to be cleaned because it would interfere with the circuit, as the dielectric is by defintion non-conductive... however, you will need to replace that capacitor because it is probably out of spec and in the process you will need to clean the oil off to get a good connection with the solder
