Prob gonna drop the current section with Mayr, heard he's quite difficult. What is the other class that meets this CSC requirement? Is it "easier"?

302, in it now, hope ya like math.

Mayr is arguable the worst current 333 instructor. Don't take 302 except as an elective ... more 333 material is on the computer science GRE. Easy solution is to take it another semester. Oh, and 302 is not "easier" unless you are a mathematical-oriented (i.e. already pursuing a minor in math) type of person.

take it with balik in the spring. people may say she's easy, but she actually teaches you the material. i left that class with an A and a strong grasp of the subject. the homework is also a good representation of the exams.

first two days of 302 make me want to cry

i took it balik's first semester teaching - what a jokeshe's a good teacher - but unless she's gained a lot of confidence since then...she used to get overrun by students b/c she would just crack - kids would ask her questions they knew were over her head just to mess with her

Her lack of confidence is why I dropped her 216 class. There were kids in there that took AP csc in high school throwing her questions left and right that she couldn't handle.

i had her (balik) over the summer and she was good. i got an A, and i actually learned the stuff.

^^And thats why you dropped?

Going from having someone as good as Miller for 116 to having Balik for 216 was not doable for me. I took it with Schwartz the next semester and had no problem, but like I said I would recommend her for 333.
