^^The Cross also doesn't want gay blood either. I mean they'll take it, but only from people willing to lie about it.I think that if you're going to let in dishonest people, you should let in honest people too. Or atleast allow exceptions for people who can show themselves negative for aids on blood tests & who are in monogamous relationships, and a few more hoops to jump through, to let in a few of the honest people. As is, they are taking in less clean blood, but not stopping this "risky behavior group" from donating. I think there is probably some correlation between general honesty & number of sex partners/risky behavior, so I think mostly they are only stopping good blood from coming in, but not blocking the bad blood they don't want, just to keep up a no gay blood policy at the cross.

They have to test a sample of each donation anyways. Asking if you are gay is just an archaic question used to intimidate. Gay people who lie and donate are not bad people and I dont think there's a correlation between general dishonesty and sexual history- that's just judgemental in and of itself.

I think someone who is dishonest might be more willing to cheat and thus have more sexual partners...And I don't really think gay people who lie and donate are bad people, I just think they shouldn't have to lie to do it.

Just an FYI:This is being done at Fraternity Court for a number of reasons1. To get Greek Life involved by holding it in our back yard2. To encourage off-campus students to donate... I live off-campus and hate going on campus for anything other than class... we're accessible, have plenty of parking, and less traffic Thank you to all of you who signed up and I look forward to meeting you if I'm there during your donation time!

my main point is they shouldn't have to lie to donate clean blood. so i'll give up defending a lesser point so that i don't side track too much.
