8/27/2006 12:23:16 PM
i'd keep the name and reject the beliefs. Khaled is a cool name.
8/27/2006 12:34:09 PM

might not be that cut and drythis might be a case of Stockhom syndromekind of like those oil workers that got kidnapped in Nigeria
8/27/2006 12:50:28 PM
"We were forced to convert to Islam at gunpoint," Centanni later told Fox. "Don't get me wrong here. I have the highest respect for Islam, and I learned a lot of good things about it, but it was something we felt we had to do because they had the guns, and we didn't know what the hell was going on."http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2006/08/27/state/n100851D90.DTL&type=politicsdoesn't really sound like stockholm syndrome to me.

Now since they have "renounced" Islam, shouldn't any good Muslim feel it is their duty to kill them for betraying the faith? Wasn't that the deal about the guy in Afghanistan who they were going to kill for becoming a Christian? I believe I recall a statement saying that anybody who converts from Islam shall be killed for it. Am I right on that one?
8/27/2006 3:20:42 PM
What's really important here is that the Hamas-led government denounced the kidnappings. Of course, that fact would not get a mention in conservative pro-Zionist US media. This group is totally unheard of, and I hope they catch them and cut their balls off.
8/27/2006 3:21:19 PM
^Quit playing your victimization/ biased media card. The fact that Hamas denounced the kidnappings was well publicized. I read it in the LA Times.
8/27/2006 3:29:17 PM
It's good that Hamas denounced this act, but you kind of have to wonder...would all these little pissant groups exist and do what they do if they didn't have the example of big ones like Hamas to follow? Sure, Hamas doesn't force journalists to convert at gunpoint, but surely you see how it's an easy jump from, "It's OK to blow up women and children" to "Well then it has to be OK to just kidnap and forcibly convert grown men, right?"
8/27/2006 5:18:49 PM
everyone knows hamas denounced this act - NPR reported, NYT reported it, Fox News reported it, CNN reported it, and even USA Today reported it!!wtf are you talking about "zionist bla bla bla"
8/27/2006 6:01:36 PM
8/27/2006 7:28:29 PM

8/28/2006 2:19:50 PM
i think gary is intelligent. he creates a stir, and gets people talking. i assume this is his intention.i completely disagree with him on about everything, but i don't think he's particularly dumb.

THROW THEM BACK...
8/28/2006 3:23:24 PM
We don't negotiate with terrorists.......unless they have kidnapped people from Fox News.
8/30/2006 9:25:49 AM

8/30/2006 9:39:51 AM

how ironic fox news employees converting islam. Bill O'Reiley is not amused

Honestly, we shouldn't negotiate with terrorists. But that is something we were (or at least should) have been working towards anyway as part of our overall peace plan. Its not like its "giving in to terrorists" if they kidnap someone and demand we keep McDonald's open 24/7 and we don't close McD's now is it?But still, I don't like us working at all with terrorists, so if that negotiation wasn't already taking place on any level and we suddenly brought it up, I have a problem with it.Also, maybe if terrorists started making reasonable demands like "Try to stop the killing of innocent civilians" I don't have quite as much a problem with is as "release all women prisoners and send us some tanks"
8/30/2006 1:40:45 PM
Is there any corrobration for that blog's assertion?
8/31/2006 11:01:46 AM
is there a "create your muslim jihadist name" thread?
9/1/2006 6:49:50 PM
using that mcd's analogy... i wonder was hit released post hearing word of this happening in isreal. I know we didnt hear it, but if there sitting there wouldnt they know its gonna happen earlier? then they released a statement saying they gave in, b/c if there aim is to damage us, this would do far more damage than two people who would be forgotten given time. this leads to the spawning of more groups who are given false hope we will give in?
9/2/2006 9:27:54 AM
to save my life i would have "converted" to islamand as soon as i got back to the states resumed my atheist practices
