The other thread is dead and it's getting to be that time again. This season is supposidly gonna be Zach Braff's last (so he says in Jane mag) ]
8/26/2006 4:49:55 PM
im looking forward to the new seasoni hope its not his last season, considering he's the main character and all
8/26/2006 8:47:12 PM
i think it's about time they end the show.it's one of my favorites but i don't wanna see it without braff
8/26/2006 9:03:58 PM
yea, fairly good show. w/o braff the show has to go, though.
8/26/2006 9:27:59 PM
i dont know, without braff, there are still enough good characters where i'd watch.
8/26/2006 11:07:01 PM
they are only good because they are supporting characters. none of them can hold the show without braff.
8/27/2006 12:00:14 AM
Its kinda like Seinfeld. Although the other characters were funnier, they couldn't survive without Jerry holding them all together.
8/27/2006 12:29:55 AM
there's been a couple episodes where they followed other people around instead of braff and those were still solid episodes. i dont know if it could hold up over time, but its possible.
8/27/2006 12:39:04 AM
(because the show might end)tis my favorite show[Edited on August 27, 2006 at 1:00 AM. Reason : ]

I've seen a lot of speculation that this is Braff laying the groundwork for negotiating a bigger contract next year.
8/27/2006 11:05:49 AM
I'd be if Braff leaves. I love this show. I've been getting leftyisreal all the DVDs so we can watch them all.[Edited on August 27, 2006 at 4:06 PM. Reason : ]

The show wouldn't work without Braff. It is told through his character's perspective. Even though it is a really solid ensemble cast, I think it just wouldn't be as good. Who would the janitor torture? Would Dr. Cox just start calling someone else girl's names? I really don't want the show to end, not yet... I hope this is just a negotiation ploy.
8/29/2006 11:40:40 AM
I'll be sad if its ending too, but hopefully it won't!When's the new season start?[Edited on August 29, 2006 at 1:29 PM. Reason : k]

8/29/2006 9:24:10 PM
^^ Yes, that was back before they realized the $$ in it.Now seasons are out before or at the same time as the show's following season. 2 years apart like this is retarded.
8/29/2006 9:31:46 PM
scrubs dvds started coming out after season 4 hold your horses man
8/29/2006 11:11:33 PM
They are playing catch up on the dvds, I guess since it hasn't been a huge ratings hit they weren't in a rush to put out the DVDs. Season 1 didn't come out until right after Season 4 completed its run on TV. They've done a good job of catching up from being 4 seasons behind.Season 6 is not currently placed on the schedule, so it could be a mid-season replacement. If nothing opens up sooner, it will start in January just like season 5 did.
8/30/2006 11:51:04 AM
8/30/2006 10:14:25 PM

9/8/2006 1:51:10 PM

11/29/2006 1:01:57 PM
^^ i think that will happen, i just started watching it like a month or 2 ago, now i watch it every night on comedy central, cant wait for the new season.
11/29/2006 1:04:04 PM
Shows never came out on DVD before because of the VCR. I knew some devoted fans of "Friends" who used to set the timer on their VCRs every week.
11/29/2006 1:48:46 PM
If I am understanding your post correctly, that makes no sense whatsoever. I would wager that many many times more people are recording their favorite TV shows weekly via DVR than there ever were during the VCR age.
11/29/2006 1:51:30 PM
^^ really? shows never came out on dvd before because the format hadn't been invented yet? imagine that.[Edited on November 29, 2006 at 1:51 PM. Reason : ^]
11/29/2006 1:51:32 PM
^^^Your post doesn't make any sense, maybe it's just poorly worded... I think it took a while before TV on DVD caught on because:- DVD was a relatively new technology. The Matrix was the first DVD to sell more than a million copies, and it was only released in March of 1999. How many TV shows have been released on HD-DVD or Blu-Ray now? None. Because not enough people own the machines or would pay the money to make it profitable to release them.- I believe the X-files was the first TV show (maybe just first hour long serial) to be released season by season on DVD in early 2000, and when it was released in 2000 it cost $150 for a season set. At this price, no one but the biggest fans was going to pay for it. It took a while for the price to come down.- Studios were worried about hurting syndication viewing (who is going to watch it on TV if they own it on DVD) and therefore hurt advertising sales.- Licensing issues: getting the rights to old shows, and for newer shows issues with the music being played (like all those stupid WB shows that always play whatever the one hit wonder of the week is and then show the album at the end... they have to pay royalties when that is put on a DVD).It had nothing to do with VHS.[Edited on November 29, 2006 at 2:23 PM.
