borg assimilator will have a long line, its kinda meh

actually, one of the most fun rides was some nickelodeon ride where you pull a lever and drop like 4 gallons of water on people waiting in line

Top Gun.

My favorite ride is still the Gold Rush.

Top gun is of course always sweet, I haven't been since the borg assimilator was added.

But I would put Top Gun in the top 4 rollercoasters I have ever ridden:

1. Alpingeist - Busch Gardens Williamsburg
2. Incredible Hulk - Islands of Adventure
3. Montu - Busch Gardens Tampa
4. Top Gun

Don't forget your coupon!!!

The Borg is awesome unless you've just waited 30 mins. Then its "meh". Top Gun is still good, Thunder Road too. And the Scooby Doo is still open to big kids but its The Fairly Odd Parents now.

they have 5 or 10 bucks off. I think they're still giving them at Burger King. You better get one!

Top Gun is the best coaster in the park, and Hurler is also good when running well (ride towards the front of the train).

Now, the following ride is *the best* ride in the park. At first it will not look like much, but I promise you it is an absolute blast once you get the hang of it. It is called the Phantom Flyers, and it is located in the Nick Central section of the park. It was just put in the park last year, but operated previously in Ohio since 1927.

There is a fin on the front of you car that you control. The key to having a great (and absolutely terrifying) ride is to get the cable supporting the car to go slack. When it tightens back up it will create a loud banging noise and send the car flying. Here is a video with some people "snapping": http://youtube.com/watch?v=qCx9g_ey97o

That's another fun thing about riding it; you can challenge your friends to see who can scare the most people out of line, or who can generate the loudest scream from a spectator. It looks incredibly dangerous, but it is completely safe. Scares the shit out of me everytime, though, and I've ridden it countless times.

Ride the Flyers. If you can snap, you'll have a blast. I've seen parents take their kids out of line when folks on there are snapping well because they think it's too dangerous. You know you've done really well when one of the operators comes over and says something to you about it when they are helping you out of your tub.

For everyone who likes to go to Cedar Point, or is into amusement parks:

This fall, at Kings Dominion and Carowinds, you can buy a pass for 2007 called the Cedar Fair Maxx Pass. It costs $89.99 at Kings Dominion and Carowinds (it is $125 if you buy it at Cedar Point), and gets you into all of the Cedar Fair parks for free for all of next year.

Those parks are:
Paramount's Kings Dominion (Richmond, VA) - Paramount's Kings Island (Cincinnati, OH) - Cedar Point (Sandusky, OH) - Geauga Lake & Wildwater Kingdom (Aurora, OH) - Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom (Allentown, PA) - Paramount Canada's Wonderland (Toronto, Canada) - Michigan's Adventure (Muskegon, MI), - Worlds of Fun (Kansas City, MO) - Valleyfair! & White Water Country (Minneapolis, MN) - Bonfante Gardens (Gilroy, CA) - Paramount's Great America (Santa Clara, CA) - Knott's Berry Farm (Buena Park/Orange County, CA)

yes this is the best ever

unfortunately there are only a 2 decent spots to let the water out so it will get on people

the best one was where i hit some lady and her kid in a stroller

vulcan, its funny you talked about the snapping on that phantom flyer ride. i went a month or so ago and rode that, and started snapping my car on accident. it was indeed terrifying. i tried to get it to stop but i couldnt and i just kept snappin it til the ride stopped.

^^hah, most likely. i didnt enjoy the seemingly out of control and near disaster feeling of this "snapping". it wasnt til afterward that i found out its normal and some people actually try to do it.

It still scares the shit out of me everytime. It's the only amusement ride that I actually get scared on while riding now (well Acrophobia at Six Flags Over Georgia still makes me a bit nervous). It's even more spectacular when the entire ride is filled with people snapping. I swear I thought the entire structure was going to come crashing down during the American Coaster Enthusiasts ERT on it last year. They won't allow ERT on it again after last year lol.

Ok so my friends and I are going to Scarowinds tomorrow. Is this fun or what. Either it could be or it could be quite lame. Although drop zone in the dark does sound scary as fuck.

I went to scarowinds last weekend... Not scary really... Fun if you have a girl with you who gets scared easy though. Lines for everything are WAY too long And don't even think about trying to ride the borg. If you wait in line it will probably be the only thing you get to do.

You're confusing them with Kings Dominion. Kings Dominion has had theirs for many many years.

man, i miss going to parks like that.....

When i was a kid and my folks were less than well off to put it mildly, my grandparents gave us season passes to Six flags over texas every year b/c it was lke..20 minutes from our house we could go for a half day and not spend money in the park and have some fun.

that said, the big coaster they used to have there - Texas giant, was cool.
As was the shockwave when it ran backwards.

Hurler is definitely the champ for me, I love wooden coasters that rattle your brain

They've also changed the theme for the Wayne's World section of the park now from what I hear

They didn't really change it as much as just removed all the Wayne's World stuff. The license for it expired, not to mention it was a dumb idea to create a section based on a trendy movie anyway. If Cedar Fair decides to get rid of the Paramount licensing you will eventually see anything that is movie related get a name change.

Ok...so I went to that Scarowinds thing. It wasn't worth the money, but riding the Borg Assimilator is probably the scariest fucking thing ever. I'm sure its scary during the day, but at night I thought I was gonna die!
