anyone ever had it?

It is a fun class. If you remember what it was like to write papers about poetry or books in high school, this class is basically extending the same process to film. For example a line in a paper would read: This scene uses rapid editing cuts to indicate the frenzy taking place in the gun fight. In general on all of the papers/hw you can identify film techniques then generalize a conclusion about what it contributes to the film. Some of the movies aren't as interesting as others but it all depends on your preferences.

i had it a couple of semesters ago with Wallis... he's gotta be one of my favorite teachers. He's a cool guy after class and likes to joke around and is always willing to help you out with work.

My class got to actually make our own films for 1/2 semester which was sweet. So that class was def. one of my favorite classes I've taken.

we just talked about what we thought of the movie etc then we talked about mise en scene and looked at a still shot from the movie
