Has anyone taken this course? How is it and what does it involve.

This class is a joke. Take my word for it. I took it my freshman year and got an A+ with minimal work. It is marginally interesting however, learning about the different pitches and styles of music and such. Just take my word for how easy it is. I can't really explain the course; you go to class and listen to music. What you listen for is the stuff the instructor tells you to listen for. Then you mark down on a piece of paper what you hear. It's hard to explain since I forgot everything I learned and it was back in Fall 2003 when I took it. But it's an easy ass fucking class. You also have to "compose" three pieces of music that you will put together for your final project. I heard the word "compose" and I thought we had to write some elaborate symphony. But all you do is find shit around your dorm/house and bang on it to make some noise. But make sure it is in some type of pattern or whatever. It's pretty silly. I used a bunch of liquor bottles for one of my compositions. The class is simple.

^i didn't even have to do that much for the class. i went, listened, had three short papers to write (that were easy if you went to class) and that was it. it depends on who you have what you have to do.
