I just installed a new head unit and a set of component Polk Audio 6.5"s w/ separate tweeters in my 96 tahoe.

Everything fits but the tweeters, so I left the factory ones in there for the moment, so I also left out the crossover box that came with the speakers.

I need someone to fit the tweeters for me professionally and I figure while I'm at it I'll have them run new speaker wires from the head unit to the front doors so I know it's good wiring.

Any recommendations for someone that can do this? It's not exactly a full job obviously, but if someone wants to make a few bucks quickly it should be a fast turnaround.

It is actually MaximaDrvr- and though I like the recommendation, this isn't something I would do normally. I don't like to work on things that I don't do from start to finish, or similar situations.

Well ultimately the only part I can't do myself is fit the tweeters... I can go ahead and run the wire and install the crossovers myself but I don't want to mess around with trying to fabricate a bracket or something myself... think you'd be up for that?

I would consider myself a professional.... I have been working in this field for 6 years.... just moved back to charlotte though... You should only need a hole saw or a steady hand...make sure you have clearance where your drilling... then drill the whole and use some hot glue... or an epoxy to keep them secure.... as far as wire it shouldnt be too bad to run wire through the door boot in a Tahoe....(this is for putting the tweeters in the A pillar) if you opt for the door location just unscrew/pop out the old tweeter and use some epoxy to secure the new one in place, shouldnt be too difficult if you had already replaced 6.5"....

the door tweeter is easy, just take the panel off the door, take the grille of by bending all the tabs straight, and swap the tweeters

If it was as simple as swapping them I'd have done it myself... taking out the originals and the grilles off are not a problem.

But, to fit them I'll have to cut the space and I don't want to do that myself as I don't have the experience and a fuckup would leave me with a bigger problem.

I thought about epoxy but if I place the tweeter "above" the panel it's too deep for the grille to cover it, and beneath the panel I can't figure out how to secure it well. The only thing I can think that would work would be to widen the opening in the panel itself so it can sort of float in that middle zone there.
