he was a really good provost when he was at NC State. He was always availiable to any student to meet. Everyone always said he was really nice and always helpful.

There's so much that I can say...he was such an amazing man and I am truly blessed to have known him (and to have kept up with him post-NCSU). With every interaction, he reaffirmed my faith in the possibility of genuinely good people making their way in the world. The world of academia is lessened because of his death. My condolences go out to his wife, Phyllis, and all the people who mourn this tragedy .
