Oh boy I can hear them now. This guy played at Jay's High School? Fuck him.
8/12/2006 7:38:12 AM
he'll sit next year because DeMarkus Stone will have a winning seasonthen in '08 he'll only have 2 years left.better hope he's better than Burke
8/12/2006 8:11:25 AM
he’ll have three years of playing eligibility starting with the 2007 season.
8/12/2006 8:52:04 AM
Stone will have a good season this year, then going into next year Amato will have to decide who the starter is. Stone the senior veteran or Beck with 3 years left. Sounds kinda like last year when Davis was the senior vet and stone was supposed to be this great QB, well maybe not great but anyway. I'm just saying it's probably going to turn into a sticky situation. Move some of these fast QBs to other positions.
8/12/2006 9:01:58 AM
so, is there any word on if this guy is any good or not?I know he was a highly touted recruit going into college but have his skills developed at all? does he learn fast? does he have a good work ethic?
8/12/2006 9:14:30 AM
8/12/2006 9:20:06 AM
i read he was really good but has a limited work ethic, so we'll see how it works out. hopefully well. i think it'll be good if we actually get an OFFENSIVE LINE.

8/12/2006 10:23:30 AM
when he looks in the mirror, he sees a black manthus, the DeMarkus
8/12/2006 10:26:52 AM
This sounds fishy, and if this guy is better than Burke, then I think we might have some really fucking good qb's on our hands for the next 4 years...hopefully the coaches know when to bench stone if he starts to suck again this year.
8/12/2006 10:33:52 AM
^^That is far from witty. Try again.
8/12/2006 10:39:05 AM
i've been pointing out that he's a wigger since we were recruiting himat least I'm consistent
8/12/2006 10:40:19 AM
he was definitly supposed to be a great QB
8/12/2006 10:58:00 AM
stone was #2 or 3 in his class but we're pretty much a lock to have a good qb next year. too many "good" qbs for them to all be busts. burke stone this guy greco evans. somebody will be good in 07 for sure
8/12/2006 11:51:24 AM
^Evans???? He was not highly-touted. The only reason he is on the team is because his dad was an All-American here.Stone was really about the #10 QB in his class.
8/12/2006 12:02:11 PM
nebraska is high quality football, he'll be good
8/12/2006 12:12:12 PM
well first of all Greco has been gone for like 2 months now, shows how much you keep up, then Evans is terrible...hes so frail he will get demolished.and thirdly, this topic has already been discussed...check the NC STATE 2007 FOOTBALL RECRUITING thread
8/12/2006 12:17:54 PM
yeah this is probably a huge slap in the face to burke. i wouldnt be surprised if he transferred out now.he ought to have a fair shot to beat out beck though so may the best man win i guess.
8/12/2006 2:33:41 PM
It's not a slap in the face to anyone.
8/12/2006 2:43:50 PM
its a 'big time talent wants to come in and you better show what u got or hes gettin your spot' kinda deal
8/12/2006 2:48:22 PM
8/12/2006 5:37:40 PM
Then how bout I can hear them say he played for Jay's dad fuck him.
8/12/2006 6:32:32 PM

Stone was ranked as the #33 quarterback according to scout.com. Rivals.com put him as the #3 dual-threat quarterback and 9th overall of quarterbacks in 2003.Beck was ranked as the #11 quarterback according to scout.com and the 4th rated pro style quarterback according to rivals.com in 2005.
8/12/2006 7:01:22 PM
all i meant is i'm sure that burke wasn't ecstatic when he heard the news. but yes, competition is always a good thing to have.
8/12/2006 7:04:48 PM
heck if i was Burke, i would use it to my advantage. find out what he could teach me that could help me become better. light a fire under my ass to become the starter. besides since he has seen actual playing time, he could give him pointers in terms of blocking out the crowd and perhaps reading college defenses.
8/12/2006 7:38:58 PM
Toney Baker committed to us with Andre Brown solidly committed, TA still here, bobby washington and Blackman already here, and Reggie Davis to be a junior. those are the types of players we want, not players that bitch about competition for starting spots.
8/12/2006 8:14:45 PM
don't even try to attempt to compare having multiple good RB's to multiple good QB'syou can easily rotate a few good RB's well. how many teams do you know of that successfully pull of QB by committee without fucking up their flow?
8/12/2006 8:25:53 PM
Well its a different situation, but considering we're talking about 2 unproven quarterbacks to compete against vs. 4 unproven running backs....all of which were great in high school. Its the same situationfor the depth chart, but different mentality.[Edited on August 12, 2006 at 8:56 PM. Reason : ]

8/12/2006 9:14:11 PM
yeah that's my pointyou can have RB by committee, so 4 good running backs is easier to manage than 2-3 good quarterbacks is all i'm saying.nothing wrong with having good backups, but at some point it's just wasted talent
8/12/2006 9:43:44 PM
NCStateTKE, dont get mad cause Marcus Stone refused your offer to the annual TKE kegger, he left when he found out your mom was going to be the prime stripper
8/12/2006 10:56:00 PM
in 2007 Beck will be a RS Sophomore and Burke will likely be a RS Freshman. Even if Beck takes the job, Burke will have a year to start at the very least.Of course judging by the scrimmage today I think there is a good chance that Beck is going to be the one doing the mop-up duty for Burke.

nevermind[Edited on August 13, 2006 at 12:54 AM. Reason : .]
8/13/2006 12:54:16 AM
^^yeah he put up some killer numbers with the 3rd teamers. baker and brown were killer as well
8/13/2006 1:12:48 AM
i remember both stone and blackman being #2 in their position on some espn rankings.
