You have to be an employee to get C or higher.
8/9/2006 12:18:34 PM
So if you go work at a "C" store or the library and quit the day your hired you could still get a C pass???
8/9/2006 12:42:25 PM
8/9/2006 12:44:10 PM
ha. no C pass for the cstore. hahaha. that's funny. there arent really any perks to working at the cstore. especially not the pay.

The price for a commuting student for a C permit is $277. Its worth every penny. I would even go a little past $300. You should have no problem at least getting your money back.
8/9/2006 1:44:30 PM
You have to be a permanent employee... you pay for the permit by month, it's automatically drafted from your check so you can't sell it back to transportationI have it because they sent me two in the mail. That's why I said I had an "extra" permit and not trying to get the full $290 that the permit is worth. I have the envelope and all of the information that was sent with it and I will register the vehicle of whoever buys it. With that said, I'd like to sell it today so PM me if you are interested.

you apply for it just like you would for a DC/F/any other pass - through regrecsnote that I said eligible. most don't get one, as i understand.
8/9/2006 2:29:00 PM
^^ It all depends on where you work and how persuasive you are with the transportation peopel. They don't like to give them out, but the will if you lean on them. Hell, the don't like to give them to faculty.

^ and ^^ are wrong, only two graduate student classifications are eligible for a C permit and these are commuting College of Veterinary Medicine and graduate level Toxicology students. The rest of the classifications are fucked.http://www2.acs.ncsu.edu/trans/parking/permits/student/eligibility.htmlI tried everything in my power to get a C permit, becuase the typical graduate assignment of DD sucks when you work on east campus. I tried to pull the whole i'm an employee on a fellowship deal, but they were like your a graduate student go use your DD pass and leave us alone.[Edited on August 9, 2006 at 4:06 PM. so if i were to buy this permit, would it matter that i dont qualify to buy a C permit from the school if the vehicle was registered and everything?
