What do most of you drivers use/buy? Summer or All-Season tires in NC?I have been using Summer tires (Dunlop SP Sport 2000E) for nearly four years and have not had any issues. I need a value replacement and have decided between either Kumho ECSTA SPT or ASX...both same price and nearly identical review results. SPT being summer tires and ASX for all-season.I am primarily concerned with ride/noise comfort with tread life following in importance. I do not track my car, just use it for daily driving, sometimes driving free spirited.I can't remember the last time we had any good snow here in NC. Just rain for the most part.

we had snow two years ago and the year before that. just none last year that i rememberthe snow only lasts a day, but if you gotta drive in it, you gotta drive in it. it only takes one accident to kill your car, and if you're driving in that one day of snow a year, you're just asking for it. that's why i only buy tires with snow rating.

^ +1I have falken ziex 512's. - Cheap. - Great in dry and wet. - Never tried in snow yet. - Low tread life.Expect to buy new atleast tires every two years if not sooner (I drive very aggressive).[Edited on August 7, 2006 at 10:12 AM. Reason : treadwear "360"]

I'd go all-season yo

^ you can easily go an entire year without ever having to drive in the snow, at least for me I can. There is snow or ice on the ground let's say 3-5 days a year, and nobody expects you to drive in it. Just get summer tires, you'll be fine.

if it is a dd just get some quality all-seasonthere is no reason to get anything else unless you are going to track it

get summer tires, and don't drive one that one day of snow.

^^ if you do/are then someone will come pick you up usually. when we got that 20" a few years back, they were all on the news trying to get volunteers to take doctors to/from the hospitals.
