I recently inherited a 9 month old Akita dog from the Raleigh Humane department. The humane officer picked it up as an owner surrender...the owner could not afford to keep it since he is currently umemployed, and it was about to go to the SPCA. Due to the large volume of animals that get taken there on a daily basis, many of them get put down before they even make it to the adoption center (so much for being a no kill shelter). I know this because I work for the Raleigh 911 dispatch center and work closely with the humane department on a regular basis. The animal control officer thinks he's full blooded (and they can go for up to $1250), but does not have papers, so I can't be sureThe Dog's name is Dallas and is a Male. He is not neutered yet but has the sweetest temperment I have ever seen in a large dog. He will sit there and let you rub him for hours, but my fiancee's dog did not get along with him. We currently have a dalmation, who is a bit smaller than Dallas. He was intimidated by his size, so when Dallas tried to play with him, he got a bit agressive. It breaks my heart to know that if someone doesn't take him from me, he will go back to the shelter and most likely get put down soon!Pics are in my profile...Please take a look! Thanks!!!!Please, someone help me with this. He even comes with a collar, a bag of food, and a leash...and did I mention he's the sweetest dog EVER?![image]http://[/image][quote]

I would LOVE him! Let me discuss with the roomies...when can I come meet him? And how well-behaved is he? And how would he be with a cat?
