One of my classes is requiring a PRS clicker for the fall. First of all what is it? Second, is there anywhere besides the campus bookstore I could get it? They are like $35 there.

it looks like a little tv remote. it lets the professor ask the class questions and then everyone in the class give their answer. The signal is picked up by these little sensors at the front of the room. When I used them for PY 205, they were provided by the school. But I think that was the first time they were used anywhere so it was just a test phase. And they were used mainly to take attendance.

Get one off eBay. You probably won't find used (unless you try Addam's bookstore on Avent Ferddy Rd.) I hadta buy one from COM 112 last year and paid freaking $35 since they were new. Now, however, ppl are selling them cheap on eBay (like I already did) and no matter what serial # you get, it can be programmed to work w/ your teacher, so don't believe that you "MUST" buy one from the bookstore.

Was it worth it to buy it? Or could I make it through class without it ?

I'll be using it for COM 112----so I can use the same clicker even if mkcarter's clicker was for a different class?

You bet.The BIO 105/COM 112 (and every other class) uses the same clicker. No matter what it was previously used for, you can use it w/ a new course. The only thing you need is a serial # on the back which your prof. will enter into his/her system so it recognizes your input. You may can get by without one depending on your profs uses, but my COM 112 teacher used it as quiz questions so you were throwing away points if you didn't own one.
