First, YES I GOOGLED THIS ALREADY.

Ok, so here's the problem: I just procured a 17" hp f70 flat panel for free (ha ha, maybe that's the problem). It was free because when you connect it to the computer, it just does this blinking white screen thing. none of the buttons on the front seem to work (except they seem to make the white screen cylce on and off). The white screen, I THINK, appears whether it is connected to the compy or not. I also downloaded and installed the drivers from hp, and that didn't help.

Any ideas on what could be wrong or how to fix it? Detail is appreciated. Not talking down to me is also appreciated.

Also, I can't seem to find the way to get the motherfucker apart, so any suggestions there would be accepted too. Edit: it's one of those plastic snap together dealies, no screws in sight.

What kind of signal?

Since the front panel controls don't work, I think one of the ICs is busted.

^ I edited that part out since that's just what the guy who gave it to me said and who knows if he knows what the hell he's talking about.

What is an IC?

Integrated Circuit

Or you can say the firmware is busted.
