Great President? Or greatest President?[Edited on August 3, 2006 at 7:30 PM. Reason : .]

u mean Greatest President?
8/3/2006 7:20:28 PM
yes, he is the greatest president. I'll put you down for that.
8/3/2006 7:30:41 PM
one spot below Taft on my list.

8/3/2006 8:24:56 PM
he's been as effective as William Henry Harrison
8/3/2006 8:34:17 PM
Good Ole Tippecanoe. He had a bad heart, and a bad choice of vice president.
8/3/2006 8:38:34 PM
I took my Bush sticker off of the car today...
8/3/2006 8:52:48 PM
I never have and never will vote for him... won't vote for a dem either, though, so don't worry about that
8/3/2006 9:43:32 PM
can't vote for w again anyway
8/3/2006 9:44:00 PM
^^ but you love guns and hate abortions (according to your photo gallery). What's wrong with w?
8/3/2006 9:46:35 PM
AND TYLER, TOO!His best hope now is to be a forgettable president. If he's remembered for anything, it'll be expansion of presidential powers, unlawful treatment of detainees, and getting screwing up Iraq.[Edited on August 3, 2006 at 10:24 PM. Reason : .]

^^ my point is that unless you vote for a rep or a dem, you might as well just stay home on election day..one day it might change... but i doubt anytime soon... good luck though

^^i did it first http://www.thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=407094&page=1
8/4/2006 12:33:02 AM
^^ that mentality is why that is true
8/4/2006 1:37:25 AM
All that bush has shown, is that the president is powerless and his party holds the real iron fist. Yah, they've done a pretty good job planning ahead in the future :/
8/4/2006 2:16:18 AM
8/4/2006 9:02:45 AM
^ Hey now! Ross Perot.....oh wait My only hope for the future is that my grand childrens' text books will show Bush for the abomination of a president that he truly is. Thank God/Allah/Buddha for two term limits. But then again I am just some kind of pansy, liberal, pinko-commie.
8/4/2006 10:44:52 AM
Ross Perot had it in his hands to make a third party viable until he quit in the '92 campaign. By the time he decided that he didn't want to quit anymore, his poll numbers had dropped considerably.Perot could have meant huge things to this country, but pussed out. I mean, he was a whack-job, but he could have been a history-making whack-job instead of a footnote.

^ This is true. I would vote for a rep who wasn't retarded and followed most of my political beliefs and I would even vote for a dem who followed the same criteria (although it's not likely one would run).[Edited on August 4, 2006 at 11:48 AM. Reason : clarify]
8/4/2006 11:48:09 AM
great
8/4/2006 12:12:31 PM
i'll bet people 50 years down the road will say he was a great presidentlots of former US presidents were hated by a lot of people during their term similar to all the people who hate Bush now
8/4/2006 12:24:21 PM
Herbert Hoover?
8/4/2006 12:24:55 PM
^^Why? Why would anyone say he was a great president? What has he really done for this country? Cut taxes while spending more money? Gotten into a war(justified or not) that we have no way out of? Damaged our standing in the international community? Managed to get people to equate people working 80 hour weeks with 3 minimum wage jobs as "economic growth?" Appointed a hack to head up FEMA?Show me where the great is. Please.
8/4/2006 12:52:45 PM
Where can I get some of the drugs you people are on?
8/4/2006 12:54:28 PM
forest for the treesyou think everybody loved FDR or something when he was president?
8/4/2006 12:54:45 PM
how long were we involved in combat in WWII vs. the length of time in Iraq? And what were the tangible results vs. Iraq? Iraq is overall worse off than it was before we came in.

8/4/2006 1:10:29 PM

8/4/2006 1:14:07 PM
nope, just letting everyone die afterward.
8/4/2006 1:14:47 PM
There were presidents who were unfairly hated or not credited enough for their accomplishments.Nixon comes to mind.Bush is not one of them.^^How could I forget the Katrina response?!? Edited.[Edited on August 4, 2006 at 1:17 PM. Reason : .]
8/4/2006 1:16:56 PM
you know exactly what people thought of presidents 50 or 60 years ago and you also know exactly how people who wont be born for another 30 years will view bush just because you personally have been around during bush's terms
8/4/2006 1:18:14 PM
See, the common characteristics amongst under-appreciated presidencies is that they all had something to appreciate about them.
8/4/2006 1:19:47 PM
^which means they had to accomplish something.
8/4/2006 1:22:38 PM
OMG WE FORGOT ABOUT TORT REFORMAND POLAND!
8/4/2006 1:26:35 PM
George is really good at overly dramatic acts. For example, he interrupted his vacation to show his support for not pulling the plug on a brain-dead woman. The only way the city of New Orleans would have had a chance was if it had a feeding tube.Oh, and he can stand in front of signs like a champ. I can see how history is really going to judge him to be among the greats.
8/4/2006 2:02:57 PM
^Wasn't that the 3 or 4 week vacation he took a while back?
8/4/2006 2:09:31 PM

^well dur, i'm a pretty big colbert fan, i would know thisi meant like i made a thread based on his idea
8/4/2006 2:13:25 PM
history will see bush as the US president who took a stand against terror...history wont see him as the bumbling dumbass that modern media portrays him as
8/4/2006 4:14:03 PM
too bad i'll probably be dead and have lived the rest of my life in a shitty ass america so people beyond my lifetime can say he "took a stand against terror"
