i dont feel like getting dirty, i just want some good armchair diagnosis.little click starting from stop in forward or reverse. just once. no difference turning/straight.sounds like LF bearing. i dont feel like jacking it up to wiggle test it.2001 civic. 82000ish miles.advance lists the hub at like $50 which aint so bad.other conjecture?

No play in CV joint? Oh...you hain't checked. That price is just for the bearing itself. Presses into the knuckle.Unless you hear a rrrrr at speed, I'm inclined to think it ain't the bearing. Are your lugnuts tight? Ball joints have wear?

jacked it up saturday, nothing loose as far as bearings, brakes, balljoints, tre'sbut when i turn either tire forward or backward while the other one is held, there is the noise, coming from the differential. good times.
