It will be funny when Wake Forest beats him this year.

Schaefer is in the SEC, to be academically ineligible would be Armageddon

^ oh boo hoo

Hey, the kid is talented no doubt, but after his quote about being scared of being beaten out for PT by Stone, you have to wonder about this kid's competitve nature, and his ego for that matter to want to be guarenteed the starting spot, whcih Ole Miss gave to him.
8/3/2006 11:06:13 AM
^i don't think he was really scared, just wanted the coaches at whatever school he chose to guarantee him the starting job, which was followed through by the staff at ole miss, who named him the starter in may, 3 months before he ever set foot on campus.our coaches told him he would have a great chance to play/start, but also warned him that he would have to compete for it/earn it, and I don't think he liked thatdoes that say anything about this guys character, i tend to think so, but on the other hand, coming from that situation at Tenn, how the recruited those two QB's to come the same season I will $$$ never $$$ know! but after being a 5* QB out of high school you want a chance to be the go to guy on your team, and I think BS tried to avoid another competitive situation as best he could. Ask Ryan Perilouix down in LSU how it feels to be 3rd string at a school you chose, when the 5 other schools you were looking at would be desperate for your services and you would be leading your team into fall practices.

I dont think he was a 5 star going into UT... Ainge was ranked higher, I think 14th in the country and was only a 4 star...

Point is that he isn't at NC State, and he chose a school that would guarentee him a starting spot and national exposure (SEC) to get him into the League asap. His scrmabling ability wil come in handy as that is his strong point against Alabama, Auburn & LSU's respective defenses.

He was quoted as saying the reason he did not choose NC State was "They already have a QB." He is a good QB no doubt, but he will not be the first dual threat QB to be worshiped, only to fail at the hands of the SEC. I wouldn't doubt if he had good numbers, because he will be 85% of their offense, but one stat I doubt even the great BS will succeed at is W's.

Shaeffer was a 5* QB coming out of hight school, #1 "dual-threat" QB in the country that yearsometimes they separate out pocket QB's and dual threat QB's so that may be why ainge appeared to be ranked higherPlus, until he hurt his shoulder BS started the first 3 games for the Vols
