old license and 12 bucks(I think)
8/2/2006 10:54:41 PM
i think $10 with the old license (i had to last year... but i may be mistaken)it doesn't take long, just have to give them that stuff, take the road sign test thing... which means all of one minute... take ur picture, and wait for them to make ur new license...early in the morning, with an appt., won't take long. the time blows but there's not usually as many people there[Edited on August 2, 2006 at 10:56 PM. try $20
8/2/2006 11:12:24 PM
I think its $25 dollars, & two forms of ID (license, SS, A bill... etc...), and a road sign test. Depending how busy, I'd say 30 minutes.

I just got mine renewed in March. It was $20. All I had to do was take my old license in and have my picture taken. Took 5 minutes. The DOT fees are the same all over, so you idiots do not know what you're talking about.

Try the Cary DMV. I was in and out of there in no time. All you have to do is the sign test. If you fail it, they hand you a little card and tell you to go sit down and study it, then they call your name a few minutes later to do it again. I saw someone in front of me fail it. But it's no biggie.

gah damn mf'ing 20 dollars!i've lost like 4 in the past 16 months and them bitchers are like only 10 apeace

Im sure the cost of printing those plastic cards went up $10 in the last year. Way to rape the citizens even worse than before. ]

If you only need a duplicate, it's $10. If you are renewing, it's $4/year... most people are on the 5 year renewals now, hence the $20 to renew.Changing the subject, I remember when I got my first license it was less than $10...

I remember my dad getting his renewed and they gave him the sign test. He got to one sign and he couldn't remember the name of the sign. He said "that's a...um...whatchamacallit..." He was trying to remember the name of the sign, but the test-giver was like "well, that's not what I call it, but that's good enough for me."
