http://www.medievaltimes.com/i am probably going to a show in illinois in 2 weeks - looking for some reviews from people that have been - it looks like the closest one to raleigh is in myrtle beach - i have to imagine the show is pretty much the same at all of their locations

I've been to the one right outside of Chicago.I'm telling you we had a great time!! Grab a bottle of mead and hope you aren't in the middle of a section of middle schoolers and you'll have fun! The food was good too-- there was lots of it.
8/2/2006 12:06:20 PM
Medieval Times kicks ass.they need a fucking japanese version, like khanki, but you get to watch samurais and ninjas fight
8/2/2006 12:08:31 PM
8/2/2006 12:18:39 PM
you'll have lots of fun. The audience gets really into it.... I was in the green knight's section and it was a blast.
8/2/2006 12:23:06 PM
You'll love it!
8/2/2006 12:24:17 PM
I want a version of Medieval Times with actual fighting, death, and gore.Don't water down my time-honored traditions, damn it.
8/2/2006 12:24:22 PM
I went to the one at myrtle beach. Its quite entertaining, and our knight happened to be the one that won.I cant imagine wanting to go back again though. its expensive.
8/2/2006 12:26:24 PM
There's no Coke at Medieval Times because there was no Coke IN medieval times.
8/2/2006 12:29:29 PM
Cable Guyyyy...
8/2/2006 12:36:33 PM
8/2/2006 1:01:27 PM
i used to go once or twice a year when i was young. i'm sure they change the stories every so often but the one i remember them doing the most was that the green knight gets kicked out for something, then later a mystery knight comes in and kicks everyone's butt.... turns out to be the green knight.good times, i love the soup.
8/2/2006 1:11:22 PM
No soda? I went to the one in Myrtle, and I could've sworn there was some sort of soda ... or maybe I had lemonade. It was a long time ago
8/2/2006 1:32:38 PM
^lol^^haha that was our story line!!
8/2/2006 1:34:10 PM
8/2/2006 1:34:37 PM
^^^the one in myrtle beach served flat pepsi when i went
8/2/2006 1:54:53 PM
i've been to chicago/myrtle beach onesraging
8/2/2006 2:18:28 PM
I've been in Toronto if I'm remembering correctly.
8/2/2006 2:22:22 PM
I went to one in Florida. I had a BLAST! I took tons of pictures too.Our storyline was different from the ones above. ...personally, I can't really remember it, but it had to do with an evil knight, red & black riding a beautiful black Fresian. He was hot. That's all I remember. Maybe he tried to kill the king? I can't remember. But I can provide pictures and videos! =DThe audience really gets into it, and the food is surprisingly very good. Get ready to dig in with your fingers! I think I got a pepsi or a coke to drink, but you only get one drink...so use it wisely.
8/2/2006 2:30:49 PM
i enjoyed it
8/2/2006 2:43:16 PM
do they serve alcohol?
8/2/2006 2:43:53 PM
dont think so
8/2/2006 2:45:14 PM
I have always wanted to go
8/2/2006 3:21:12 PM
Like 2 months till Renn Faire
8/2/2006 3:22:54 PM
yeah, they served alcohol at the one I went to.
8/2/2006 3:37:27 PM
8/2/2006 3:40:32 PM
If you haven't been before, you'll probably enjoy it. Otherwise, it's kinda hard to justify the cost per person. We went when we were vacationing in Myrtle and enjoyed it through and through.
8/2/2006 3:44:42 PM
i think i'm sold - i would like to verify the alcohol thing though
8/2/2006 4:05:26 PM
it is all you can drink beer once you are in there, so dont fill up on the ones they charge you for while waiting at the pre-show.[Edited on August 2, 2006 at 5:31 PM. Reason : at least at every dinner show i can recall going to in orlando (arabian nights, pirates, this)[Edited on August 2, 2006 at 5:32 PM. Reason : NOT dolly parton though, dont let her rip you off]
8/2/2006 5:30:07 PM
hrmmm unlimited beer - how long are the shows typically? wonder if i need to worry about getting back to the hotel
8/2/2006 5:33:22 PM
isn't there something similar in cary (of all places)?
8/2/2006 5:41:37 PM
dont quote me on it, but i know many of the shows do it (i havent been to medieval times in a bit, but pirates in orlando DEFINATELY does if you are in the area, good times).[Edited on August 2, 2006 at 5:55 PM. Reason : probably take a couple hours to get in, eat, watch, etc. ]
8/2/2006 5:54:27 PM
I went to one a long time ago and it was so boring but the food was actually pretty good...if you are into fantasy stuff though you will probably like it
8/2/2006 6:11:40 PM
I liked the illinois show more than the myrtle beach show? Do you work at Nortel?
8/2/2006 6:31:46 PM
I went in MB quite a few times. it's rather fun
8/2/2006 8:05:08 PM
if you get free beer during the show they will advertise the crap out of it. I know the pirates show in Orlando does, but I don't remember if MT does. But it's not like they're waiting to give it to you, they don't come around with it that often, it's most likely a Natty lite and warm as hell.
8/2/2006 8:08:26 PM
i beleive its miller lite (im 80% sure, might be bud) at pirates. we told that bitch to bring the pitcher to us.[Edited on August 2, 2006 at 8:11 PM. Reason : plus pirates has better food. if you ever do this in orlando, go to pirates]
8/2/2006 8:10:26 PM
i'll call tomorrow about the beer
8/2/2006 9:27:46 PM
The tickets seem pretty expensive on the website. Are you really paying that much?
8/2/2006 9:29:11 PM
i just called them - they said beer purchased separately - if it was included i can do 51 for some decent food / show / beer - if beer is extra i'm not 100% sure it's worth it - we'll see
8/2/2006 9:35:55 PM
I love that place... the food is great, and it's great if you are with your peers...
8/2/2006 10:19:58 PM
most of my friends can't/won't swing $55 for dinner - it'd just be me and the girl - she's flying up for the week
8/2/2006 10:20:51 PM
it's kind of corny, and the only really awesome parts are when the knights are actually fighting each other. i thought all the other contests, like riding horses and grabbing rings, were sort of lame.but it's worth it to go at least once.[Edited on August 2, 2006 at 10:46 PM. Reason : asdf]

8/3/2006 1:59:19 AM
We went for my 21st birthday, it was great. What made it even better was that my big bro paid for us.
8/3/2006 12:29:11 PM
I remember one thing that sucked, they didnt give anyone nearly enough napkins.
8/3/2006 12:48:31 PM
^oh yeah, that too.
8/3/2006 4:23:44 PM
^^^^ When I went last year there were a couple people who weren't acting like they used to, but most of the people were and it was still very entertaining. I still enjoy that one MUCH better than the one on the fairgrounds in Mar/Apr[Edited on August 3, 2006 at 5:45 PM. Reason : ^]
