From what they said at E3 the Twilight Princess will be released simultaneously for the Gamecube and the Wii. That game is coming out November 1st so I'm assuming the Wii will be out around that time.

I really hope MS cuts the price of the Xbox and dumps Halo3 on the market in a bundle.Just because that would be hilarious.
8/1/2006 10:37:03 AM
^if they do that I might actually go buy one.
8/1/2006 11:47:37 AM

Don't buy the ps3 before it comes out, it will be 200% more than it will be about a month after the release date, even sony agreed the price of the ps3 was currently, too expensive.
8/1/2006 3:50:21 PM
The PS3 is launching November 17th, 2006 and they are only shipping 2 million WORLD WIDE. Considering they are a Japanese company, you would have to assume that Japan will get at least half of those (1 Million), which leaves the entire rest of the fucking world to split the other 1 Million. The US will get AT MOST 500,000 at launch and there are 4,000 Gamestop/EB stores nationwide, not to mention Best Buy, Target, Wal Mart, Sam's Club, Costco, Circuit City, etc. I am guessing stores like mine will get a MAXIMUM of 5-7 of them at launch. We will not take pre-orders until after the manager's conference ends in early October, after that point we will have some idea how many we will be getting and thus can tell people whether they will get one at launch or not.As for the Wii, Nintendo is holding back a lot of information from the public at this point, so I don't really know that much about the launch date. You can already pre-order about 10 games for the system, none of which are Nintendo-published titles. Some of those are tentatively dated for October and some others for November. It will definitely be coming out in the 4th quarter of 2006 and they promised the price will not exceed $250. The Wii is launching with Zelda, Super Smash Bros, Project Hammer, Excitetruck, Call of Duty 3, Red Steel, and Metroid and Mario Galaxy are possibilities as well.I cannot make an accurate prediction for when we might take pre-orders on the Wii until they announce the official release date. Once we know that, it wont be long after that.PS3 launch titles are even less compelling than what launched with 360. The only exclusives that look cool to me (Heavenly Sword, Assassin's Creed, and Metal Gear Solid 4) are not going to be launch titles. It's the same crap that 360 offered basically. Fuck Sony.[Edited on August 2, 2006 at 2:25 PM. Reason : ]

hmmmm i think i want to preorder a few.... and sell some...! to either freinds for at cost or randomn slobs for big markup
8/2/2006 3:48:06 PM
Well, yes, I do consider the price to drop in the months that follow, when released the supply for the product will be low, so the price will be considerably high. Afterwords, you'd have to be braindead not to understand that less people wanting the product would generate a drop in price.
8/2/2006 4:13:21 PM
well they always sell less as time continues. prices do not drop constantly. i doubt there'd be a major price drop before a q4 2k7 unless sales are REALLY terrible.[Edited on August 2, 2006 at 4:16 PM. Reason : especially because they are only shipping so few to begin with. no need.][Edited on August 2, 2006 at 4:17 PM. Reason : theres a difference between marking up for hype and killing some buzz with a 600 pricetag]
8/2/2006 4:16:25 PM
you are stupid if you think you are going to get more than one, and you most likely are not even getting one at allThe Wii is next-gen, they just don't give a shit about HD because they are relating to EVERYONE, not just hardcore gamers who have some coin. Nintendo has been doing it right all along, and they are gonna win out in the end, in my opinion. Developers are fucking pumped for making games for the Wii, as they should be, and those same developers are bypassing the PS3 because blu-ray complicates shit. The Wii will change the way shooters are played, not to mention sports games. Those are the two biggest selling genres of games today, and thus, they know what they are doing.

seems to me the new control setup is an extension of previous ones. similar games and actions, just new ways to do it (and some new actions of course).
8/3/2006 9:24:32 AM
8/3/2006 9:55:53 AM
^ Not to me man. Sure, excitebike was awesome but if I had an Xbox 360 and a Nintendo in my living room (sadly I have neither) I'd pick the 360 everytime. Of course that's just me, but a business has got to change w/ the times. HD is all the rage, and to outright not support sucks for folks like me w/ an HDTV. The Wii is likely the only new console I'll own simply because the wife will actually play it with me, but I do wish it had HD.The saving grace: it's $250 or less. I can handle pretty non-HD graphics for $250.
8/3/2006 10:40:38 AM
^exactly, you have to mention the price point in all thisI have a 360 and I will have a Wii alongside of it, and I will play them both a lot. Both of them have TONS of compelling games coming out for them in the next year. Those two combined with the DS will ultimately make me a poor bastard come next spring, but it will all be worth it.
