ill be leaving within 30 min...

should i risk traffic like woah going I40

or just take 64 and avoid the risk altogether?

I'd go 40. Even if you do hit some traffic, it will be quicker than all the stoplights on 64

If you go 64 to Siler City and take 421 to Greensboro you should be ok. There are only a few stoplights on that stretch and you'll probably catch most of them green. The 421 exit is before all the Siler City stoplights. Plus it's 65mph for a good portion of 64.

I always go 64/421, mainly because I really hate driving on 40. It's boring as hell, it's closer to chapa hill, and there's always a chance of things being jacked up around RTP.

parts of 421 are 2 lane highways so if you get stuck behind a slow moving truck then it might take a while before you can get around it.

^The sections between Siler City and G-boro are 4 lanes. Plus at 8:00am the guy said he was leaving in 30 minutes... I suppose he already left.

yea traffic on 40 wasnt bad....i usually only resort to the 64/421 when i know of bad conditions....but having not had the pleasure of an early morning i40 drive in a while, i figured id ask
