I am looking at buying a used boat, and the guy told me that the floor is getting a little soft and would need to be replaced pretty soon. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with that and how much it may cost me? I dont want to buy the thing if it is going to cost a mint to fix the floor.

what is the floor made of... is it fiberglass or wood?

either way it will be a pita and probably too much for you to spend...

basically a used boat in general will cost $texas to keep running.

to the point where many offshore boats repower every 5-7 years.

to be honest i would buy a boat where someone has obviously shown an interest in longevity

when my friend was boat shopping we found one with an ams oil setup and dry sump conversion. My friend lost his poker face and took the first offer.

I once replaced the floor on a boat. It's not that hard. 1/4 plywood, fiberglass sheets and resin and you're set. As far as cost...a couple hundred I think? Of course, this was an older style boat so that may have made it easier....1974 Galaxy what's up!!

I did a 1974 Correct Craft, but that was years ago. I don't remember it being a really terrible job, but budget a few hundred for it.
