rofl btw, wtf is this "net neutrality" shit everyone's talking about??? I'm too lazy to look for a decent answer on Google, but all the new stories reference it like I'm supposed to know...

^ That's a sign you're getting old.

basically, it comes down to this. you eithera) support being able to access internet content as you can noworb) support allowing for new, lucrative opportunities for ISPs to charge for the right to certain contentMost right-wing sources I've read say that choice b is best because "it supports the free market", but i could care less, i like the internet the way it is.
7/24/2006 9:54:20 PM
in a nutshell^
7/24/2006 10:08:53 PM
ISPs could separate users into two tiers, and throttle your bandwidth if you don't pay enough. also, they could block content from you, like other ISP's websites.
7/24/2006 10:59:58 PM
or you could just switch ISP's if they try that bullshit. As long as there is not a monopoly or oligopoly in place, you'll be fine either way. ISP's just want to get more money from sites like youtube that put the most stress on their networks.

"I don't have to have that kind of speed"I wonder how much the ISPs have invested in the lawmakers for net neutrality to even be an issue?
7/25/2006 7:38:36 AM
