I'm the night manager at Bear Rock Cafe, a sandwich shop on Lake Boone Tr. We're about to lose half our staff in August, so we're doing a lot of hiring at the end of the month. There may be a couple daytime fulltime positions to fill, but I'm posting this mainly to fill our part time nights/weekends spots. These are real flexible shifts that run from whenever you can get there in the afternoon until 8:30ish during weekdays, with longer shifts available on weekends. Consider why I find this job particularly well suited to college students:-You're never there that late-The hours are completely flexible and they gladly work around your schedule-You don’t really need any sort of employment history-It's easy to request time off, convenient if you have big tests/projects coming up-There's a cat bus that runs from campus to bear rock every half hour; this was crucial to me when I was living on campus without a parking spot, and I know there're people reading this in those shoes. The busing is very convenient.-YOU TAKE HOME FOOD ALL THE TIME. And we're not talking cold quarter pounders, but high quality sandwiches and junk. Bear rock IS my meal plan.We need people both on the cash register and in the kitchen making sandwiches, no training is required. The atmosphere is very low-stress in the evenings and on weekends. Depending on what you want, you can probably work as little as 15 hours a week or as many as 40. Even with part time, if your schedule allows it and you want to work some mornings/full days, that's totally possible. Wages start around $7 an hour with some room for raises, but also consider the money saved on food.Pick up an application in the store or download it here:http://www.bearrockfoods.com/pdf/Employment_Application.pdf... and then turn it in as soon as you can for your best chances. We'll start calling people back at the end of the month. If you seem halfway competent, you will set yourself apart from the VAST MAJORITY of our current applicants (hence me wanting to post this). If you want to Mapquest the store, our address is 2458 Wycliff Rd, 27607.

Hmm. I'd be interested. But I'm living in Japan right now and won't be back until mid August.

^^ not a problem at all. i'm sure we'll still be looking for decent help at that point. if you are looking for a high paying job, then look elsewhere. if you are looking for an easy job with decent pay and a lot of flexibility then apply here. you mean someone actually likes the Thai Coconut Curry?

On a different note...I think Bear Rock and Consolidated Theatres need to be friends and trade out some food for movie tickets....
