so the big news is that they might move the team 20-30 minutes down the road?

it is a huge deal, one of the most storied franchises in all of sports switching localesthe city of san francisco had better come through on this, you would think five super bowls would earn you a new stadium - besides, candlestick, or 3com, or whatever it is, is as old as the hills... im not even sure how many teams still play in football-baseball stadiums, miami and oakland come to mindbottom line, they need to stay put

Dolphins stadium is a football stadium, a baseball team just happens to use it too. Minnesota is a dome at least. Oakland is probably the last of the true baseball/football combo stadiums. Candlestick is a combo stadium, but since the Giants play in a new stadium, its football only now.

It's similar to what the Patriots did threatening to move to Hartford. They are going to build a new stadium at Candlestick Point without a doubt according the papers out here..

the Los Angeles 49ers of Santa Clara.

RFK is a football stadium that only a baseball team plays in. Its too bad b/c RFK was awsome for football. Fed Ex kinda stinks. The Nationals will be getting their new stadium soon too so RFK will be back to soccer only.
