i've been to chinatown in NYCi saw a naked woman standing in alley and played a chicken in tic-tac-toe
7/17/2006 11:06:48 PM
NY Manhattan Chinatown sucks too, Flushing is much better.
7/17/2006 11:08:54 PM
out of all the 'chinatowns' i've been to, it was the worst.
7/17/2006 11:08:55 PM
DC's is pretty fucking lame
7/17/2006 11:11:18 PM
^that's right. Rockville, MD is much better but a little more spread out.
7/17/2006 11:12:34 PM
DC's sucks, but it's actually better than LA's
7/17/2006 11:15:26 PM
I don't believe it
7/17/2006 11:18:23 PM

You could only understand his hatred if you lived there most of your life like we had. It burns you out, but otherwise its a pretty cool city.

Back to the point of this thread, yes LA chinatown sucks--really sucks. Little Taipei in Monterey Park is much better, more spread out though. So to summarize;Flushing>NYCRockville>DCMonterey>LAReason: More Taiwanese than Chinese[Edited on July 17, 2006 at 11:41 PM. Reason : .][Edited on July 17, 2006 at 11:45 PM. Reason : check out Rowland Heights too--if you want good food when you go to LA.]

I wasn't hating on DC or LAI like both cities a lot actually- they are cool places to visit and I always enjoy myself whenever I am thereAs far as Chinatowns go, the best ones I've been to were in San Fran, New York, and BostonLA's was a pretty big let down considering:A) LA is the second biggest city in the countryB) LA has a huge amount of chinese immigrantsC) It failed to meet my own standards of what a good chinatown should be

Finally a thread where UjustWait can post as needed.

If you blink you miss the one in DC.I didn't like NY Chinatown.I've been the one the in Honolulu, and don't really like it. Everything closes at five.San Francisco is the best.
7/17/2006 11:58:54 PM
Well, think of it this way. There's "Chinatown", in Manhattan. And then there's the "United Sino-Korean States of New York", in Flushing. Seriously, you can go there and not see a white person anywhere in line of sight—it's fucking awesome.(I'm Chinese, by the way.)
