I was looking up nc state stuff on ebay and found someone selling their gator bowl ring, no names involved it says "only the winning bidder will know" i know the gator bowl isnt that great but still why sell something like that, i don't post too much so hopefully i don't get jumped on too bad..... just saw its not the player selling it i guess he already sold it to someone else

I don't know who it is, but I'm guessing his first name has a T and an A in it.
7/16/2006 12:30:07 AM
you mean like Cotra? HE WOULD NEVER
7/16/2006 12:30:42 AM
Cotra doesn't have a gator bowl ring, does he?
7/16/2006 2:16:07 AM
7/16/2006 2:45:46 AM
I'd sell that shit.[Edited on July 16, 2006 at 7:48 AM. Reason : I'd sell that shit.]
7/16/2006 7:47:46 AM
haha i've got one of those laying around here somewhere
7/16/2006 8:24:55 AM
It doesn't have to be a player. It could just as easily be a manager or trainer. My old roommate has one.
7/16/2006 2:25:28 PM
how much was it going for?

7/16/2006 3:04:20 PM
judging from the other items the seller has bought, it could be anyone
7/16/2006 3:12:26 PM
i'm pretty sure the person selling it isn't a player. Look at all the other stuff that the seller has either sold or bought. It is prolly some dealer that the player sold his ring to.[Edited on July 16, 2006 at 3:26 PM. Reason : beat me]
7/16/2006 3:13:22 PM
look at the seller info...all the guy does is buy & sell random championship rings
7/16/2006 3:13:34 PM
7/16/2006 4:05:05 PM
Mazzone is in NY now, right?was he on staff when we went to the gator bowl?
7/16/2006 5:43:34 PM
its a dealer
7/16/2006 5:55:57 PM
7/16/2006 5:56:16 PM
Well that could be the player from whom he got the ring -- not necessarily a player selling it THIS time.[Edited on July 16, 2006 at 5:58 PM. Reason : ]

and how would a coach's name be on a players ring?
7/16/2006 6:11:31 PM
one hour after the bidding ends?? That seems a little extreme. How about 24 hours...im curious as to what player it is, more than likely its a nobody...
7/16/2006 6:16:24 PM
^^ Who said a coach's name would be on a player's ring?
7/16/2006 6:22:57 PM
7/16/2006 6:34:07 PM
it might be a coach's ringwho says this guy knows who's who
7/16/2006 6:40:21 PM
Hhmmm... interesting
7/16/2006 7:13:21 PM
7/16/2006 7:21:14 PM
mebbe i'll buy iti wonder if the rocks have been taken out and replaced
7/16/2006 10:36:41 PM
then let us know the "mystery" player
7/16/2006 11:08:41 PM
i bet its fake
7/16/2006 11:20:56 PM
I'm sure the dealer just bought one from a player who was kicked off the team, left on his own, or simply was just there & didn't care b/c he didn't play. I'm sure there have been a few. If it was a player who was liked or known by fans, he'd just say the name.
7/16/2006 11:29:23 PM
fakey
7/16/2006 11:32:04 PM
I think it would have to be someone who either coached here or is pissed at the team (a-la TA). 1) Even if it was a bench warmer... that's probably his most memorable moment and pretty much the highlight of his football career. 2) It wouldn't be an NFLer. They don't need the $300-$400 this might get them. That's chump change... even for an NFL backup. It's too significant for that. It's gotta be a coach or someone like Dickwash or TA. (And Dickwash is supposedly still a huge State fan). Couldn't be Bobby Washington, but he came to mind. Someone who transferred or got removed from the team with a bad taste in thier mouth.... or that's strapped for cash. Chris Hawkins, maybe?[Edited on July 16, 2006 at 11:34 PM. Reason : ]

jay davis needs money
7/16/2006 11:39:05 PM
That looks like the one that was given out by the Gator Bowl, but NC State commissioned and had others created that look a lot better than that one.[Edited on July 17, 2006 at 1:32 AM. Reason : g]
7/17/2006 1:31:55 AM
buy it now is $750???screw that
7/17/2006 1:02:25 PM
Was Dick Wash on the Gator Bowl team? I could see his ass selling that shit.[Edited on July 17, 2006 at 5:34 PM. Reason : Size 10 is a pretty big hand so probably not a WR]
7/17/2006 5:33:22 PM
why is everyone speculating these big names.... theres like 300 people who get one of these thingsit was probably a 5th string defensive tackle or someone that you've never heard of[Edited on July 17, 2006 at 6:11 PM. Reason : a]
7/17/2006 6:11:22 PM
as well as managers, trainers, cum wipers, etc. although the ad does say its a players
7/17/2006 6:13:10 PM
It is highly unlikely to be a D or OLineman. Size 10 really isn't that big. I wear a size 10 & I only weight 205 lbs. Most likely WR/DB/LB/RB. I think Wash was on the team that year & would seem to wear about a size 10 ring.
7/17/2006 6:17:28 PM
i wear 10.5+ and im 5'8" 140-145lbs lol, thats not a very big ring
7/17/2006 6:31:03 PM
managers and trainers didn't get that ring.
7/17/2006 7:10:37 PM
that wasnt the ring university bought the players either. that was the ring the gator bowl itself included in the players/staff bowl gifts. because of NCAA regulations the total bowl gift had to be under $300 and that ring only cost $150. so whoever paid $750 is out a lot of money.
7/17/2006 7:22:52 PM
Whoever he is, he is a roller coaster fan.
7/17/2006 7:57:55 PM
I would always want to keep that shit. Show it off and try to pull some kind of hoes.
