Texas has 22 commitments. So far 5 5-star and 13 4-star recruits. If it stays like this, they might wind up with a class for the ages. http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=110&p=9&c=8&yr=2007[Edited on July 14, 2006 at 7:05 AM. All but 2 are from Texas.... which is even more impressive. Too bad NC doesn't produced the kind of talent they do

Someone's definitely taking advantage of Vince Young and that national championship.I sure as hell wouldn't turn them down if I was one of the top players in the country.

it's damn amazing they've parlayed that national championship into this big of success early on. i mean you expect to have better recruits after a national championship, but this is insane. i hear Texas is known for loading up early in the recruiting year, but that's usually with mostly 3 and a couple 4-star recruits. later in the year is when they grab the 5-star guys.

Not to rain on your parade or anything, but USC's class for this year is probably better. 8 5-stars, 12 4-stars. 24 total commits, 13 in the top 100.http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=110&p=9&c=14&view=1&yr=2006

That is 2006, he is talking about 2007.
7/14/2006 10:22:59 AM
so, what you are saying is that if we win the nc, we can get multiple 5 & 4 star recruits...

it must be nice to win a NC...why do I suspect if we were to win one, we wouldn't quite have this recruiting success?
7/14/2006 10:45:51 AM
^I don't think we'd be too far away. Pretty much anyone who wins a NC blows up in recruiting for a couple years. Teams like Texas, USC, Miami, FSU, etc. will always do just a little better because they are in states where the football talent is ridiculous. We would also do well because we have such a strong presence in Florida already. We would easily pull in a couple top-10 recruiting classes following a national championship with possible top 5 classes.

I know the link I posted was for 2006. He's saying it could be a "class for the ages" but USC's class for this year is very clearly better.
7/14/2006 11:20:43 AM
texas always has a recruiting class in the top 4 or 5. this is nothing new.
7/14/2006 11:47:31 AM
yeah i'm not ever surprised when Texas is going to have a top recruiting class, especially after the NC. i'm saying that it's unbelieveable that they've already wrapped up that many 4 and 5 star guys this early. a USC fan on a message board was even talking about how unreal they've stacked up that amount of talent already.

Fuck Texas, GO AGGIES!!!

USC always has the better classes it seemsi mean who wouldnt want to go to Cali right on the beach in beautiful town with beautiful people and play football for a team thats a powerhouse year after year and sure to be looked at by NFL scoutsthen again, Texas isnt so bad but its soooo hot
