this is basically my sleep schedule right now

it usually happens during the summer (when i dont have to get up for classes)

the only time i do get up early is like once every few weeks for work (I have a very random schedule)

I am exactly the same way.

As evidenced by this post.

I don't know what to tell ya. People do have natural sleep rhythms that their bodies go through so that may be part of it. I do know 2 things for me personally though:
1) When I had a co-op job in college and I had to be up every day at 8am for 6 months straight I got really used to it and would wake up naturally on the weekend around 9am.
2) When I would exercise heavily after work I would be so exhausted that I would be asleep before midnight and, after about a month, I had a lot more energy during the day.

Try ginseng tablets. You take them three times a day for boosting energy. I've been using them for work because I'm always a zombie.

Most of my sleep schedules have revolved around my work schedules.

-First job at a movie theatre: awake 12pm-3am, sleep 3am-12pm.
-Summer job doing overnight stocking on summer at Target: awake 5pm-8am, sleep 8am-5pm.
-Current job: awake 6am-11pm, sleep 11pm-6am.

Generally, if you aren't "forced" to get up or be asleep by a certain time, you probably won't be. With the work schedules, your body should naturally adjust after a few weeks.

And there's always coffee in the morning...

I was the exact same way until I graduated and got out into the working world.

You pull an 8-5 job... it's hard to stay up past 11:00

I have been working a lot of overtime at work (like 8:30-7:30... 11 or 12 hour days). I find when I get home, I'm so wound up and stressed out, I cant seem to feel tired until about 1 in the morning. So as the week goes by I get progressively more exhausted and then crash on the weekend. Then it starts all over.

I don't want to take sleeping pills or anything, but I reall need something that will force me to feel tired at 11 even if mentally I don't want to go to sleep.

you probably need to go to the gym or run or something to help you crash

Probably a bad idea during the summer since your body is naturally more energetic

some days i've swam, played basketball, hockey or plain skated for hours, been tired, but not sleepy and still stayed up all night. running is boring.

I'm kind of the same way, but i've learned to make myself adjust through specific routine. If I do the following for a couple of weeks it usually helps.

are you going outside once you're up and throughout the day (you should)? Sunlight plays a role in the secretion of Serotonin, which in turn plays a role in how sleepy you are.

Decide what time you need to get up for class or work or whatever, then count backwards for how much sleep you want every night. go to bed and get up within an hour of the same time, respectively, everyday. Get out in the sun within a half an hour of the time you wake up (even if it's just to go check your mail). Once you're up do not lay back down.

Also make sure you don't take naps.
and exaust yourself.

Usually this stuff helps me. If I need to stay up late to do work or study, or for some reason get off the schedule I easily swing back into being more awake at night.
