how do i get windows on the hard drive... do i need some sort of bootable disk?

maybe i didn't connect the cd/dvd drives correctly or something, because it doesn't see it.

i mean, i plugged them in to the mobo and the power supply... do i need to do something else?

Did you check the boot sequence in the BIOS to see if its set to boot to cd?
