I understand not trying to be a comercialized band but when the only good song you play is by The Band....and only 2/8 good original songs you have then it is time to quit

Yeah, that was by far the worst concert I've ever been too. If I wanted to hear a bad jam band I'd go to the brewery. If those tickets hadn't been free I'd have asked for my money back.

do any of you really know the Black Crowes' music fairly well? Like, do you have all (or nearly all) of their albums?

would you know a good set if it slapped you in the face?

i wasn't at the concert, so i can't say for sure, but i just have this feeling that a lot of people who don't know anything by the Black Crowes besides Hard To Handle, Twice As Hard,, and [i]She Talks To Angels[i] went out there, and it wasn't a case of the Crowes playing a bad show so much as a case of not playing what you expected.

They're pretty much the last good blues rock band left.

Yep.

Raleigh, 7-12-06....Thats not the best set-list. I may have been dissapointed had I been there, and I love the Crowes. And I don't care to hear really their biggest hits. Up on Cripple Creek must have been cool, though. Anyone who says they lack talent or musicianship is a retard though.

This is from West Palm this weekend. I thought this show was one of the best I've seen.

there are some great blues rock bands still kicking that aren't as old, wasnt sure if you meant just the last of the oldschool blues rock bands.

That was a great show, I don't know wtf is wrong with you guys. I guess you only like radio hits.

Of course, it wasn't as good as when they played with Jimi Page and Audley Freed.

What about Gov't Mule and ABB?

They're back to the original guitarists, Marc Ford and Rich Robinson. Audley Freed is playing with the Dixie Chicks now *snicker*.

Audley Freed is from Burgaw, NC for those that don't know. He used to play with Cry of Love and the Black Crowes.

there is only one comment to be made about what the crowes played, and that is, that they honored Master Syd Barrett with their encore, "Lucifer Sam".

and for you douches that have to whine about what they played...or to even figure out what the fuck I'm talking about...

July 12, 2006- Alltel Pavilion @ Walnut Creek - Raleigh, NC.......................Wed

Virtue And Vice, Horsehead, Jam > Black Moon Creeping, It Takes One To Know One^, Twice As Hard, Descending, Up On Cripple Creek^~, My Morning Song, Welcome To The Goodtimes^, Most Likely You Go Your Way And I'll Go Mine^#, By Your Side, Soul Singing, No Speak No Slave
e: Lucifer Sam

^Chris guitar (4) - ~Rich lead vocals - #Marc lead vocals
First "It Takes One To Know One"
Last "Horsehead" 4-25-06 {41} - Last "Lucifer Sam" 10-24-01 {200}

Up on Cripple Creek was nice, but the 2x as hard reprises were priceless.

Was a good show, they are musically talented..... I didnt like it only because at the time i was too drunk to enjoy anything that i hadnt heard of. But overall, maybe the band, knowing ticket sales were not good (most everyone i talked to got them for free) did not feel the need to play the best known hits and took the time to do what they wanted to play. Always been a fan of the black crowes work and would go to another show (and not drink as much).

Cry Of Love rocked.

I played one of his old amplifiers (that was used in the recording of Brother...thought about buying it, but didn't.)

I hope he's at least boning down with 1 or 3 of the Dixie Chicks.

I would've enjoyed that set.

Virtue & Vice, My Morning Song, and No Speak No Slave are three of their best songs, and most people have never heard them.

They play My Morning Song quite often it seems, at least the last few times I have seen the Crowes. I agree, its one of their best, along with Wiser Time.
