"The House passed legislation Tuesday that would prevent gamblers from using credit cards to bet online"Isn't that what neteller is for?
7/11/2006 3:58:28 PM
wellthe issue becomes funding neteller.if the radio show i was listening to this mroning was correct, any from of electronic draft from your bank OR credit card would become impossible.the EFTs and shitmost credit cards already didnt allow fudning of internet gambling sites anyways.[Edited on July 11, 2006 at 4:09 PM. 7/11/2006 4:18:19 PM
What about things like paypal accounts that are used for ebay. How is that different from neteller?
7/11/2006 4:31:18 PM

good read here from the poker players alliance titled "Internet Poker Industry and Revenue Analysis"http://www.pokerplayersalliance.org/PDF/Internet_Poker_FINAL_REPORT_7_9.pdf
7/12/2006 2:12:57 PM
This wont pass the senate, dont get your panties in a wad just yet
7/12/2006 2:18:29 PM
you can buy phone cards now and shit like that to fund the internet gambling.....although i will say one of my friends was contacted by his CC company because he had transactions with NETELLER and the company said that since people used NETELLER for funding online poker accounts that he wouldnt be able to make any more transactions through neteller using his credit cardwhy is the GOVT so fucking dumb.....why not just regulate online gambling and make money off of it. Just like pot being illegal.....why not take something that people are going to do regardless and make money for the US instead of spending millions of tax dollars to fight a continuously losing battle.
7/12/2006 2:46:24 PM
^ i think you mean why doesnt the government focus on something that is actually important...not online card games
7/12/2006 2:52:46 PM
the bill also apparently includes clauses that could ask for isp's to block access to the sites.thats all id worry about.
7/12/2006 2:53:39 PM
so they couldnt put a dent in the PORN industry so they move on to try to conquer other areas of the internet instead.....i mean really why in the hell should the gov't be able to tell me what i can and can't do with my own money.
7/12/2006 4:18:27 PM
but the difference with the porn inudstry is that most of that is physically based in the us, and pays us taxes on sales etc.none of the online sites are based in the us, and how much clout does the us have for taxation issues for a company based in cyprus or quatar.[Edited on July 12, 2006 at 4:31 PM. the article i posted above makes alot of strong arguements for allowing them to be based in the united states. there are some staggering numbers mentioned showing how the online poker industry would be largely beneficial to the us economy.

i wish i could open it, but alas, work filters.
