DVD shrink hasn't been working that well for me lately...specifically if i rip a dvd to the hard drive, then i open those files with dvd shrink, the resulting dvd it creates is too big for a standard dvd, no matter what I do with sliders/checkboxes.is there another program like dvd shrink that will open dvd files and shrink them to one dvd?

DVD shrink allows you to remove stuff off of the original DVD files, so you can fit it onto one dvd. Or you could be hardcore and get a dual-layer burner.

take out the subtitles, other languages, bonus materials and all that shit. also, adjust the compression ratio to allow it all to fit ontoa single dvd. i've done that all the time and never had any issues with size.

I use Nero Recode (version 2.2.6.17) and sometimes CloneDVD 2. A while ago I read that the guy who made DVD Shrink got hired by Ahead to make Nero Recode which is why they are so similar. You should give it a shot.

there is a check box that tells the prog to encode as DVD-5 or DVD-9. You may want to "check" on this.

just get 2 or 3 of the most popular dvd software programs from http://www.torrentspy.com, i'm sure one of them will work

Open DVD Shrink Go to -->Edit-->Preferences-->Preferences tab-->Change the Target DVD size dropdown back to DVD-5 (4.7 Gigga's!)

Prior to ripping, I've found 4425MB to be a good number to live by. Once it's done ripping, it usually ends up near the 4464 mark and thus is burnable.

second for nero recode (as mentioned above, it's just a more feature-packed version of dvdshrink)
