For my online course my teacher is posting links on his website so we can hear his lectures through Real Player. I was wondering if anyone knows how i can record/save these lectures while they are streaming? I want to be able to hear them whenever i want, save them to my hard drive, not for the two days he keeps the link online. Thanks

yeah, i found how to do it downloading some other freeware, but now how to do it through Real Player. I was just wondering if anyone here knew how, google didnt tell me how to do that.

it might be 'cheating' to record that stream - after all he could make them only available for two days for a reason, eg. so slackers would go ahead and do their work when it is assigned, and not at their leisures.

i think thats exactly what he is doing, so you have to listen to them with in the two day period. But i want a way around that. I checked, and his syllabus doesnt say anywhere that you cant record them. I think he hopes that we wont bother trying to figure out how to...[Edited on July 5, 2006 at 2:24 PM. Reason : ht]

man, you better watch that. it doesn't have to be in the syllabus for it to be considered cheating.

i am not recieving help from anyone on any papers or tests. Also he never stated that it was not allowed or that it was cheating... idk, still think that i could a) get caught, b) get in trouble?(if anyone knows how i'd still like to know)

ok, sir - if you think that getting help is the only thing considered cheating, you need help. check out this little story. I knew a girl that had a certain english class, and they were assigned specific chapters of a book to read and write about. she quoted (quoted as in correctly cited the source) something from a chapter that was not assigned to the reading/writing and got found guilty of plagiarism. he doesn't have to state that recording the videos are allowed or not - besides you never know who is reading this. i would ask him before i recorded them.

Cheers, sir. thanks for your advice. Sounds like that english prof was a little unstable, but i understand what you are saying. In anycase, until i reach the prof. i would like to record todays lecture. So if anyone has any input on how i can record streaming audio using Real player that would be great.

Where are the links to the lectures?

most likely a course WRAP

I just wondering if he can't just "right click to save as..."

all that does is save a shortcut to the link... I am just going to use some freeware. Thanks for the help though.
