My friends I went fishing ~25 miles off of nags head yesterday. Apparently it was a bad day overall for fishing since we only caught seven fish. the whole fleet that came back out of our dock had terrible days too. However, i did catch and release my first white marlin ~80 pounds. Truly awesome moment and was totally worth the bad trip. Seeing the marlin flip out of the water and its colors shining in the sun was amazing. Ill try and post some pictures if one of us took anything decent.

80 pounds is pretty decent for a white marlin. Wait until you manage to hook a blue that weights over 400 pounds! Catch any tuna?

our whole group caught tunas, mahi mahis, and wahoos. a couple of the other boats had some blue marlins but i wasnt sure how big they were cause we got back so late and didnt get to actually see any of the other catches.

We went off of Pirates Cove Marina (http://www.fishpiratescove.com/). All the info is on that site. Costs around $1500 plus the tips for the mate and if you want your fish cut. We rode the Hot Reels and loved the mate (a good mate can really make a trip). His name was Dirty Jay but he wasn't the usual mate for the Hot Reels. We had a group of 6 people which i think is the max for most of the boats.
