e So I find a reputable seller with a decent treo for sale at last, purchase/activate/9 yards. Phone is in great condition, I use it for about 3 hours getting it setup and decide to install Lightwav pro in order to use mp3s as ringtones. The last thing I can remember doing is setting up options in this program and getting distracted to come back to the auto-'sleep'Since then, the End/Power key will bring the unit out of sleep but will not let you hit the center button to unlock. Navigating with the stylus still worked at the time. I've tried a soft reset, a warm reset, and a hard reset. For some reason I cannot get the zero-out reset to do anything but show me the rainbow bootloader. The weird thing is the keys *do* work in the case of holding them down for the resets. (Power, UP, Center, *any other key*) and 1/20 times replacing the SD card magically gives you control of the keypad at the SD menu. As soon as the phone sleeps again it's lost. Are there any ideas as to what to do? Are sprint tech's knowlegable about hardware, or do they just read off their screen the same things I have googled?

Palm technical support is pretty good if you can get a hold of them ... email works best, though they do a damn good job of hiding it on their website. Sprint will most likely feed you a line of "You installed a third-party app, we won't support it, you are SOL".You tried a firmware upgrade for that phone? The earlier versions have horrible memory management issues.

Yeah I was on palm's website and they listed it was like 29.99 or something per incident. I don't know if the phone is less than a year old.

I've narrowed it down.Phone is sleeping, Take out SD card. Keypad works. Phone resleeps, keypad dead.Phone is sleeping, Replace SD card. Keypad works. Rinse repeat.weird shit eh?
