i hated reading that book back in high school... it was so boring
6/29/2006 1:50:00 PM
i didnt think it was boringits basically this gangsta ass warrior who drinks mead and fucks maidens and goes apeshit buckwild on a beast that terrorizes his town...good stuff
6/29/2006 1:53:45 PM
Although he doesn't get completely hammered on mead, and then calls Unferth out for getting trashed.
6/29/2006 2:06:17 PM
whoops, i dont remember all the details...late night last night with the bard...doin mead and redbull bombs
6/29/2006 2:08:25 PM
i defintiely didnt think it was boring i loved it
6/29/2006 2:45:50 PM
one of the few books i actually enjoyed reading in school... enough that i read it twice (transferred schools and was required to read it again, and i actually did).
6/29/2006 4:46:35 PM
Um, is it me or does imdb have the actors playing grendel and beowulf mixed up.....look at the trailer
6/29/2006 6:02:23 PM
I didn't see Crispin Glover in there at all.[Edited on June 29, 2006 at 6:50 PM. Reason : ndgx]

yah http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0402057/ was not horrible, gerard butler played beowulf.tried to take a new take on the story... even if the movie isnt incredible i'd almost watch it just for the panoramic movie shots and scenery. movie is gorgeous.

This should be done by Mel Gibson, and they should all talk in Old Norse. Would be great.Same music from 28 days later in that trailer... [Edited on July 26, 2007 at 2:42 PM. Reason : .]
7/26/2007 2:39:48 PM
why does all the characters look like crappy cg?
7/26/2007 3:23:39 PM
because they are?
7/26/2007 3:38:12 PM
yeah man, that cgi is ftl bigtime. i was excited when i saw the poster, but that looks awful.
7/26/2007 3:57:23 PM
It was filmed with motion capture technology like The Polar Express. Which is why some of the characters look like the actors/actresses that play them and some don't, like Beowulf. I think it looks like shit. However, it's supposedly going to be presented in 3d. That may improve the visual aspect of it.
7/26/2007 4:09:38 PM
Is that the finished product? It looks like they just made really really close CG models for some reason. I cant tell wether its a completely CGI movie or not.
7/26/2007 7:21:04 PM
if the whole movie is in 3d, at the imax, id pay to see it.otherwise it looks like a mediocre xbox360 game
7/26/2007 9:09:59 PM
7/26/2007 9:46:19 PM
the book "Grendel" was infinitely more entertaining than "Beowulf"
7/26/2007 9:58:36 PM
i also agree w/ the old norse. in fact, i have gotten so that i am at least slightly irritated by movies that have people who would not have spoken in english speaking in english. call me crazy. ^^^ has is right though, if that's a final product it looks like a bad game.
7/26/2007 10:20:28 PM
i don't get it, why would they CGI stuff that doesn't need to be? i mean surely they could find makeup artists to get the desired effect. that doesn't really make a lot of sense
7/26/2007 10:27:17 PM
Yea, that blond chick and john malcovich (sp?) seem CGI, but what is the point?
7/27/2007 5:49:52 PM
if it doesnt get rated R we should have it at the IMAX
7/27/2007 8:13:22 PM
could have been better cgi, could have been worsei probably wont notice either way[Edited on July 27, 2007 at 8:17 PM. Reason : .]
7/27/2007 8:16:38 PM
^ i would.
7/27/2007 10:22:05 PM
w00t!I like to joke about how I'm going to name this kid baby Hrothgar, so I think that it is pretty awesome that they're coming out with another Beowulf movie, especially with some A listers in the cast and the screen play by Neil Gaiman.
7/27/2007 11:17:46 PM
new, r-rated trailer is up:http://www.idontlikeyouinthatway.com/2007/09/restricted-beowulf-trailer-is-online.html
9/5/2007 3:18:53 PM
Can we throw in Chris Tucker for comic effect?
9/5/2007 3:25:19 PM
hahahahaahahthats gonna fucking sweetGreat monologue at the endand titties?
9/5/2007 9:17:28 PM
yea, i do like that monologue
9/5/2007 9:39:42 PM
holy crap somebody's making a movie outta that?? yikes.
9/5/2007 10:22:30 PM
yikes because the movie wont be good or yikes because you didnt like Beowulf cuz both Beowulf and Grendel owned
9/5/2007 10:54:10 PM
It's almost as if they discovered that they weren't going to be able to produce quality CG but decided to roll with it under the guise of an intended art style.
9/6/2007 8:18:56 AM
^^that movie doesnt have a chance... book will always be better. never read Grendel tho.
9/9/2007 1:12:34 AM
I'll probably go see it, but I don't understand why it is all in CGI. Something more along the 300 or LOTR series would seem to be better from my perspective.
