i must have recently downloaded a virus off of something from limewire, and now the program keeps opening up, and my task manager won't open with ctr+alt+del or the run program window.

what's the best virus removal software i can get? i have norton, and i have spywareblaster. i don't really know what to do???

if you have norton it should have checked the file once it was downloaded automatically - but if for some reason it didn't you should have done it manually

if you can't even list the name of the virus - people are going to be hesitant to help

try right clicking on your task bar and opening task manager that way

that might at least get task manager open

everytime i try to open it, via the toolbar or otherwise, it says that the task manager cannot be opened because it's being used by another program.

Ass backwards way I removed something my girlfriend got on her computer downloading free ringtones or clicking on whatever banner ad was shiny and flashing that day:

1) get an aftermarket task manager.
2) run it and stop the process/es
3) run adaware etc
4) boot into safemode run adaware etc
5) get different virus protection, firewall, etc.
6) uninstall limewire

do you run XP?

can you run the System Restore program and restore it back to a date before the bad download occurred?

it's not slow ass norton - norton is fine - it's your slow ass computer that's infested
