I wanna get rid of stuff like an iron, some books, some furniture, some utensils, etc.

What's the best place to get rid of them?

well, I don't have time or inclination to post on craigslist...and I can't wait for the weekly flea market.

I was looking for something like http://www.pawnamerica.com in the area.

my definition of best would be a place that buys everything I wanna get rid of even if it means only getting a dollar or two.

you know things like lamps, clocks, etc.

The only one I know of is near Crabtree, I can't remember where exactly but it is next to some Irish pub.

btw I thought you were in Idaho or something?

i cant see a pawn shop buying an iron or books or furniture.

pawn shops deal mostly with jewelry, music stuff, guns, electronics, tools, etc.

would you mind just giving it away? there are plenty of places like goodwill that would love to have that stuff.

sure

giving away sounds like a good idea, but are there any locations where I could just dump that stuff?

Although, getting $10 or $20 wouldn't be that bad

You could use your donations as a tax writeoff next year if you donate.

America is a nice country. I think I should donate.

ok, list places where I could dump all this stuff and get a piece of paper that acknowledges my donation.

american way on capital blvd. or tryon hills thrift shop.

there are multiple goodwills in the area as well, not sure exactly where these are off the top of my head, but they all have websites and will all give you a receipt if you ask.

Cause For Paws is a pretty friendly thrift store. They have a S. Saunders St. location that is about 3/4 mile inside the beltline. I'd recommend taking it there.

there's a goodwill at lynn rd & glenwood next to the movie theatre.

there's also one in cary behind the shopping center that sushi thai is in at the corner of maynard and kildaire farms rd.

there is a drop box on hwy 70 (glenwood) just south (east) of the intersection w/ miami blvd.

there is also a thrift store on tryon near hwy 70/401

i was about to say, if you are only gonna get like 10 bux for hauling that shit around town you might as well just be nice and give it to someone who could use it.

They always have a stash of old computers and monitors, so I'd say yes. Store policy might have changed though.
