any other good films that are sort of like this one, for those of you who are familiar? It's a German silent horror film, and it was really good...I'm interested in looking at other films from this era- silent ...or horror in general that's older. GO!

I recently got a 50-pack of horror movies from amazon for $15. It included Nosferatu. Most of the movies are pure trash but at $0.30/movie the package isn't bad at all. It also has Night of the Living Dead, White Zombie, Phantom of the Opera, Metropolis, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, ect. Some are pure camp: The Brain that Wouldn't Die (MST3K did this one), Creature from the Haunted Sea (the clip with the creature in the Malcolm in the Middle intro is from this movie), The House on Haunted Hill (Vincent Price), Little Shop of Horrors (Jack Nicholson). Most are snooze-fests but you get some pretty good ones on the cheap. I had previously bought Night of the Living Dead for about half the price of the entire set and a few other titles for $1.00 each. It's much cheaper buying the package than cherry picking and buying the good ones individually. There are several that aren't really horror IMO and all movies are public domain - you can download them all for free but the advantage with the package is that you don't have to spend time downloading (I have yet to find a seeded torrent on the one I was looking for) and they are already on the DVDs.http://tinyurl.com/s8osp (amazon)

$15 isn't a bad deal if you get atleats 5 decent movies out of it:Nosferatu. Night of the Living DeaPhantom of the OperaMetropolisDr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde The House on Haunted Hill Little Shop of HorrorsI'm a big fan of Vincent Price, was The Pit and the Pendullum included with that pack?
6/28/2006 1:07:28 PM
No, but as far as Vincent Price is concerned it does include The Bat, The House on Haunted Hill, and The Last Man on Earth.I wouldn't include Little Shop of Horrors on a list of 5 decent ones in this collection. The (what I am assuming is) the original is terribly boring. White Zombie is also a classic. There are about 5 Bela Lugosi films in all.

i'd watch out for some of those cheap movies...some are seriously seriously degraded and cut upif you want to watch metropolis, this is the version you wanna seehere's the website http://www.kino.com/metropolis/they also have the restored nosferatuhttp://www.kino.com/video/item.php?product_id=527i own a couple copies of the public domain metropolis and nosferatu, but honestly, watching the restored versions are like watching whole other movies...especially metropolis because they've put a great deal of material back into the film that was missing from previous versions and the picture quality is spot on
