I have been having trouble hearing sounds from within browsers. IE and Firefox will not play sounds except if it uses quicktime. Any other situation the sound is muted.

In every other program I can hear the sound fine. WinAmp, games, etc. don't have any problems.

I use a Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS sound card.

I am wondering if there is a sound setting somewhere set on mute, but I can't seem to find any volume setting set low or muted.

Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

try reseating the card. if that doesn't work, uninstall the card in the control panel and reinstall the drivers for it. I had that happen once and I'm sure there was a more elegent solution, but the uninstall/reinstall solution only takes like 5 minutes and worked for me.
