I have a PS2 and am looking to get a game that isnt a sports game (for once).I want a shooter/adventure game like these but dont know what to pick. I can get either of these, new, for really cheap.I heard God of War was one of the best PS2 games ever but Resident Evil 4 looks like it has such a gripping plot and characters.Anyone have either or both of these games and have a recomendation one way or the other?

I loved God of War. It has the best plot and the best moves. Adventure wise it was the best i've played in a long time. But if you're looking for a shooter game it's not going to do it for you.

hey, its the truth.one is survival horror, the other is hack and slash action.noone that knows what they are talking about is really going to say one is better than the other. They are both top notch games that have different play styles.and they are both cheap, so why not get them both?

so God of War is probably more like Zelda?

They're both great games. If you can only get 1, I would go with RE4. God of War is great but it is only ~10 hour game. RE is much longer. More bang for your buck. You could rent God of War and beat it in a week.

RE:4 is one of the best games I have ever played (I played it on Gamecube though not PS2). It is honestly up there in my top 5, if not second most like video game I've ever played and beat. Replay value is VERY high, story is tops, graphics tops, gameplay very good...etc. etc...If you would like a cooler version of Prince of Persia, get God of War. RE:4 stands alone.

God of War, hands down no contest

i had fun playing both, but yeah god of war is just too short.7hrs and i beat it. took me more like 27 to beat re4. re4 also has some secondary unlockables and minigames that make it a little more replayable.god of war is very fast paced with only a few points of slow down for puzzles. you've got enemies attacking you constantly and swords swinging. it really is the best ps2 exclusive if you ask me. it has some cool prince of persia type climbing/swinging moments and a legacy of kain plot feel.re4 is much longer and a bit slower. it has that eerie feeling throughout the game and has some parts where the action ramps up and is just insane. it really captured a survivor horror element that the others just didnt create for me because of the increased action. God of War.but not by much. Resident Evil 4 rocks, and i've been bored with Resident Evil since I beat the 1st one.

RE4 was the only RE game I liked, but I really liked it.
