i just sent a couple of big files to someone and now my quota went up 40% to 96.4% and it isnt letting me delete anything at all in my inbox or sent but it let me purge my trash which didnt make it go down any. what can i do?

I had this same problem trying to delete some PowerPoint files for a huge semester-long project. Not only did I attempt to send them to myself, when they finally went through it also saved it as Sent Mail and clogged everything up.

Let me see if I can find anything for you (the old tech support email)

thanks for the quick responces and the link bigdave, i did check the squirrelmail site and didnt find anything before making the thread.

the correct answer is unity GMAIL

that solution sucks (not the gmail but the "don't use trash"), if you do this you lose all of your trash, which may not be a problem but you never know.

i find it interesting that they don't suggest this in case you haven't done it.

go to sysnews.ncsu.edu, login, click quota manager and then increase you email quota. They start you off with 50mb for your email, afs space, and novell each. Which comes to 150mb, however there is another 150mb available to you which they do not distribute to any of the spaces. You can go in and redistribute all of your space however you like. Also make sure you delete you "sent" and "trash" mail regularly.
