i saw where you can have your voicemails sent to you via email as a file.is this file a typical audio file? wav? mp3? what?we're looking into this so that some of our bosses can leave messages to an individual with a transcription machine. these messages are typically kinda long, and she has a hard time typing them out on the voicemail system on her phone, so we thought that if we can get an audio file off vonage and then use a transcription machine with foot pedals it would be a lot easier...[Edited on June 19, 2006 at 10:26 AM. Why not just use a digital voice recorder?

it's a long story, but to get either one of these bosses to do that and be able to deal with getting the file off of it and to us is not feasible.they are technologically impaired to the point where they might just be allergic.

vonage sends .wav files in the email

low-quality .wav's, of course...they're not that bad in terms of size...i get them sometimes, and it actually works out well

For some reason I thought you could get mp3 too.. or maybe winamp just opens wav's on one of my PC's.
