Recently, my g/f's car is stalling..atleast i think its stalling.2001 corolla. automaticCar starts completly normal.Soon as you put it in reverse and step on the gascar shakes as if the engine is about to shut offthe engine doesnt turn off though..she says its because she immediatly brakes and puts it in park and waits before she moves the car again...so if she brakes, and puts it in park for a while when the car is shaking it works fine. I dont know if the engine will shut off if she doesnt put the car in park.new battery? engine skipping? thanks!Description of the shaking: Like teaching someone to drive a manual[Edited on June 17, 2006 at 6:04 PM. when in reverse the force makes the engine turn some and if you have a crack in that thing it open up causing it to stutter and almost stall. that was my theory until i read that it was only a 2001, and i have never seen a crack there on a car less than 10 years old.
