Hopefully I can get pointed in the right direction:Situation:I installed a new hard drive into my computer (Set to Master). And I set my old hard drive that had my OS and programs on it as a second hard drive (Set to Slave). Installed Windows XP on master HD. Left slave HD as is.Problem:Some of my programs aren't working anymore. Says, *.dll missing or gives some registry errors and wants me to re-install these programs. I don't have the setup files anymore because some of these programs were purchased online and I've lost them since then.I'd like to keep this HD(master vs. slave) setup. Is there any way to get those applications working again? Is there software out there that will recover programs for you? Point me in the right direction. Thanks...

you can copy and paste the .dll's from your slave to the master which should work, but you will have to edit any paths to the slave because they were originally setup to look on your master.

^ I've tried the .dll copy and paste method... but paths? How would I go about editing the paths? Any websites with tutorials/hints/help on this?

as an installer developer, you're simply going to have to reinstall the programs you want to run properly. There are so many things setup in the windows registry that tell applications where to find files, you wont be able to get all your applications working again. You might as well go back to your previous hard drive as your master, and setup your new HD as the slave. PS. Why did you do this in the first place?

^As said, reinstall is about the only way to guarantee everything is where it should be.Otherwise, you'll need to completely copy your "old" drive to your "new" drive if you want everything EXACTLY the way it was with no errors. You'll need another computer or a cloning program (use TWW search) to do this.

Yeah, sucks for me...... I wanted new HD as master drive because old HD is 60GB 5400RPM and new one is 320GB 7200RPM.
