So I am wanting to tailgate for the game tommorow night out at the RBC Center. What is there to know...like what time the lot opens, what restrictions they have on "beverages", ect. I have tried looking online but info seems to be lacking. Any help would be most appreciated.

if its anything like yesterday, lots open at 3, doors at 7, game at 8.the parking lots stay relatively empty, good for football and stuff. its pretty laid back. we were drinking beer and cooking out, noone is really around to give you crap. There are a lot of families and stuff, so i guess as long as you dont cause problems, its a pretty laid back event.

I have a question... Yes I do. But first the background..We we're tailgating (which we don't do much, hence the ?'s) at a Canes/Rangers game earlier this year and had our grill and cooler out over at the fairgrounds lot. Well we decide to start walking over to the RBC Center and each take a beer with us. We are wating to cross the street and the cop looks at us and tells us we can't be walking around with open containers (he just told us to get rid of it before ALE saw it) ... So does that mean you can't have alcohol on the Stadium lot??? So if you pay to park you cannot tailgate?? Or were we breaking the law by drinking in the fairgrounds lot?? We had the closest space to the street crossing and had a LARGE grill and cooler open for a good 2 hours... nobody said a thing to us.

i tailgated for game 5 and 7 of last series and for the game last night... the cops at arena parking lots really dont care about the alcohol. i was sitting there taking shots of cuervo right in front of them and they didnt say a word.

ok.. SO it was basically that you're not allowed to have a beer on the road? Only in the lots?So I could have taken a closed beer across the street then opened it in the stadium lot and been fine?

the couple of times i've tailgated for hockey games, I haven't had a problem... even brought my beer right up to the stadium (just threw it out as i was walking in)

I always bring a beer from fairgrounds to the RBC. Just make sure you hide it when you cross the street. Jersey sleeves work well.[Edited on June 12, 2006 at 5:11 PM. Reason : why the fuck do i always have to enter a reason? lame.]
